- Welcome back to our channel. Life with the bridges.
We are the bridge family trying to get the most out of this rat race we all call life.
In September 2021 we found out our dreams had come true. We were expecting a new addition ….to the Bridge family.
We spent the next 9 months, like any normal parents would, preparing our life for the arrival of our little boy.
On the 11th of may 2022, at 11:11pm we were bless with the birth of our son. HE WAS PERFECT. We instantly felt love like we had never experienced and our family of 4 we always dreamed of. Was finally complete.
We had the most magical first 8 months with Teddy experiencing all that life had to offer. UNTIL on the 24 of feb 2023 he got diagnosed with high risk AML Leukaemia.
We spent 6 months (184 days to be exact) at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He endured 2 rounds of chemotherapy and a full bone marrow transplant in hope that it would save our son's life.
We documented every part of his journey on this channel to raise awareness and give childhood cancer the exposure it deserves.
After riding the hellish and unpredictable storm Teddy made it to the end of his treatment and RANG. THAT BELL!
You are joining us now in our next chapter of this journey at home at bridge HQ, as we try to rebuild our life and continue to spread awareness about what it’s like to have a child post cancer and transplant in hope that this second chance at life we have been given. IS FOREVER.

All though myself and Katie have been lucky enough to travel the world far and wide in the past and now are slightly restricted for now due to Teddys recovery. This doesn’t mean to can’t dream, explore and go on adventures from our doorstep to show our son what life has to offer.
TIME is something that none of us have control over and let me tell you. It isn’t on our side. I don’t have time. We don’t have time and you don’t have time. Yes I said it. YOU. DON'T. HAVE. TIME.
So if there is one message we would like to spread to all of our community here on our channel. It’s live for today as tomorrow is never promised.
We are going to breathe deep, dream big, travel wide step out our comfort zone and go and grab life with both hands and make the most out of what ever time we have left on this earth. AND WE are taking you along with us. So buckle up as LIFE. WERE COMING FOR YOU.

I have recently been following your family journey and I am so so happy for you all and Teddy, the sheer hell and frustration of it all is heartbreaking but I'm glad the sun came back out and thankful for the 2 magpies, long may it contiue for you.

My son had cancer twice in his twenties and now he is 46 but even now if he says “I’ve got something to tell you” the thought that he has cancer again flashes across my mind. It will always be like that. Now I just let it cross my mind and let it go.

I am so, so sorry for what you guys have had to suffer through these past few weeks!..Along with Teddys initial diagnosis and what came with that!..No parent should ever have to feel this way. And I pray that no parent ever will again!..
So proud of you Teddy for being the bravest boy!..You have been through more in your short life so far, than most people who are decades older!…and you have remained a superhero through it all sweet boy!..

I don’t know what lifted my mood better, Teddy full of energy and playing, or the look on your face knowing he was returning to happy, healthy Teddy.
Oh yes, live for today a matra I use and we all need to hear. Such a relief for you, the beautiful bridge family will have scares because you are loving parents. Hurdles will be crossed and challenges will make you stronger. Teddy is going to be okay, he will get bugs, temeratures, all sorts aside of his being a very special boy and you will always worry beacuse he is yours and we just fear out of love. You have dealt with the last testing week and passed the test 100 percent. This too shall pass another mantra that I hold close. It passed and you carry on - one day at a time. Heard what your mom said. I was thinking along the same lines but remembering my younger sister coming home from 2 weeks in the hospital and being melancholy (not wanting to talk to my parents) We were told to not bother her but being an unruly mob of kids we of course just started playing with her and soon she was giggling and came back to her old self very soon after. The point is that children can reach children because of their different dynamic. Obviously not under every circumstance but when he is well enough. Parents must use a little subterfuge of distraction at times to help their little ones cope. 😊 I believe you already know this of course. Thank you for sharing the better news.

So very, very happy for you! Life, even for parents of any child, especially the first, have many ups and downs with worry about health. Children do often get bugs, have bad days and I know for you and Katie you have AML thrown into the mix, but the more experience you have being a parent, the more you will start to worry just a little less. Being such an intelligent little one, Teddy will be coming to an age where he can tell you more about how he feels. Seeing you both laughing with Teddy is golden! He is ‘amazing’. ❤
Great news Bridge family ❤ I did notice on Christmas morning he only gagged after he sniffed. Looked like mucus went back his throat and made him gag which made me think he had a virus. Sooo so glad he has made a full recovery and back to his normal wee self.
Thank god he’s ok and I mean that he has answered my prayers for teddy and both of you❤❤❤❤❤

I have two girls with complex needs, and I am a single mom. My younger one was extremely unwell, and I gave my entire life to her and wrapped her in cotton wool, and the outcome of that was PTSD, burn out and my daughter was angry as I kept her to close. I encourage you to have more date nights, and get therapy. I find grief counselling helps a lot, she didn’t die , but there was a lose of a dream and so many things so I was able to start letting go of some of my anxieties. Good luck and will keep your Fam in our prayers.

Its certainly a unique journey your on, most people hsar cancef and death, but dont realise in between the 2. im so pleased the results are good.
Perhaps some therapy for you will give you some extra tools to use, it is important to keep yourself safe as well.
One suggestion i would consider is to offer both hospitals an education talk on your experiences and how they can improve their skills, sometimes being part.of such a big machine we lose the perspectives of individuals. Its a nice way to convey a massage and be part.of solutions.

Hospitals don’t like calls period! Sad to admit, but when I finally got thru and was told they couldn’t help me for the millionth time , I used a lot of colorful language! I’m so happy for you guys! Wonderful news so happy for all three of you. It is disgusting the wait you had and to let the first lot of blood get to old to use is unforgivable the pain it put poor little lad through was also unforgivable due to this his trust in the hospital its staff you and his mum had a dent put in it, I am sure it will fade for him and he keeps getting better and stay well. Your title frightened me so I can't imagine how you both felt. I think that you have PTSD and really need some expert help, you cannot continue in the almost permanent state of panic. Swinging all the time from joy to despair. Please sweetheart some help. All the stress hormones coursing through your body are doing damage to you and Teddy needs his Daddy to be fit and well. ❣🙏
He has sought some help ….and knows this isn’t good for him, however it’s very hard to not be fearful after what they have been through….
I think most parents who go through this have PTSD. I know that I do. It doesn't matter how much therapy someone might get, life is always going to be split between the before and after. The after, when your child is ill, your mind is always, always going to go to relapse. My son relapsed just 4 months later but went into remission again and now here we are again, 3 months in remission and trying to find a new normal when you know that it can all come crashing down again. During treatment is hard but after treatment, when everyone expects you to go back to normal, that's the hardest part.
@ I can only imagine….maybe and this is only a suggestion as I haven’t been where either of you are…starting a gratitude journal , and wrote one or three blessings or gratitudes , you have …mine also has questions like something that brings me peace! Or so one who came through for me? Etc. …it seems like one more thing to do…bit honestly it helps me refocus from negatives to positives …and then I can go back and retread journal after journal of the good in my life.
I’m so sick of this guy doing this.. his updates are over a month old.. like do they want us to think he has cancer again.. I am unsubscribing and just gonna pray Teddy STAYS CANCER FREE…
I think Katie is right, trust in god!!! I know it’s hard, I’m chronically ill so I know it’s hard!! Your moms also right, kids knows how to play us all.. you once said he is alone responsible for how he feels with weather he eats or not… god has given you amazing gifts let this show you that he has a plan for you guys!!!
Scott and Katie, what wonderful news to wake up to here in the states.
It's amazing how long it takes to fall in love with a stranger.
And yet, in such a short time, these little miracles become the center of our world. With a love and a bond so deep that it could cut with a knife.
The true sense of unconditional love for such a tiny being. And life is good, the best it could ever be.
With that said, let's start this year off again. So, Scott and Katie, let me wish you a very happy, safe, and healthy New Year again.
May Teddy always find love, happiness, and comfort in Mommie and Daddy, no matter what obstacles, cross his sweet little path.
May God wrap his precious arms tightly around Teddy and keep him safe and healthy for many, many years to come.
P.S. Scott, you and Katie acted the way any parent would have acted, given the situation. Please, don't apologize for being human.

You need to live with hope. Do not let despair steal any more of your days. To put yourselves through this constant stress is not good for any of you. Your videos just suddenly showed up…I had to wait to see the results. I was not surprised. Teddy was sick and he got better like kids do all the time. I am a cancer survivor so I also understand the worry, the waiting on results, the uncertainty but being so focused on what could happen robs you of the present and what you have right now. Does the intense worry solve anything? Does assuming the worst bring any good? Instead, why not choose to believe all will be well. If it turns out not to be then you can deal with it. I just think of what you all have been through and how stressful and pointless your worry was… I just want you to know I think Teddy is marvelous and you and your wife are so blessed to have him. You are obviously loving parents. I will pray for health and peace for all of you. Please take care and God bless you all❤

There will always be negative people on here, if you feel that way then why are you on their page? Scott, I look for the video and I wait right along with you praying with anticipation for nothing but good to come out of this indescribable journey you as a family are facing with teddy , it gives me strength in my own life that if teddy can do it so can I , I have been following since your first video watching teddy grow and he is so handsome & smart !!
