    We have been using these levelers on our 5th wheel for 4 years. I added a little item to mine. In the large curved part I drilled a parachute cord size hole in the center of the largest recess. I put a 2 ft length of cord through the hole with a knot on each end. This allows the cord to be pulled out on either side. Then I drilled a similar hole in both sides of the chock part. The cord is used when we are removing the levelers. The person pulling out the chock can pull the cord and not need to get your fingers close to the tire. then when I reverse the cords on the leveler part are pulled out as well. I haven't tried this yet, but, it might be possible to place a stake and tie the chocks to the stake with a bungee cord so that pressure is removed, the chock will pull out and then reverse and a cord could pull out the leveler part. This would be useful on a dual axle trailer by a single person.

    I have a set of these and I always use a dead blow to tighten in the chalk as well.. the only difference is when I go to the remove the chalk I pull my trailer up a couple of inches and set the emergency brake this will releases all the pressure on the chalk and you can easily remove them without beating on them with a dead blow and then I will back down the ramp to release them.. ✌️

    Great demo & review video. I'm guessing the guy that owns the original red product (defaced Moab) is at least making a licensing fee for these. I admit that I have not investigated it, but I would think they are way to similar to get around a patent. Again well done video. Thanks

    Another benefit of this style is WHEN you get flat tire, use this in the now flat tire and generally it will raise the flat tire enough to get it off.

    Why only on 1 side? Does that lift just that side, making your trailer unlevel side to side? I'm new and have not been out yet, so can you please explain that? Thanks

    • @AirstreamNerds
      @AirstreamNerds  4 года назад +2

      Cameron Cosgrove the idea is that when you pull into a campground most of the time the parking space for your camper will not be level...one side of your camper will need to be raised to make it so. You put these on the side that needs to be raised and off you go...hope this helps and thanks for the question

  • @davva360
    @davva360 4 года назад

    The thing that concerns me with these is if i would have to cut one of them. I think they are a great idea though. Certainly looks like it would be more accurate than the lego blocks i use. Going to give it a couple of goes with my new level mate pro and blocks. If i feel like these would improve the process I will buy them.

    • @AirstreamNerds
      @AirstreamNerds  4 года назад

      They are made to be cut and this style of leveler work great with the level mate pro...especially if you only need to raise 4 inches or less.

  • @hikingrules1673
    @hikingrules1673 2 года назад +1

    My tires sized on the dual axle where the Beech Lane leveler is too long to fit between the two tires and if I cut the inside leveler shorter and place both underneath the two tires would that make the rear tire on the shorter leveler instantly go higher with the rear tire than the uncut one on the front tire?

    • @AirstreamNerds
      @AirstreamNerds  2 года назад

      I do not think that it would make that much of a difference in the long run but you could just cut both the same if there is a concern. Thanks for the comment.

    • @hikingrules1673
      @hikingrules1673 2 года назад

      @@AirstreamNerds Thanks for the quick reply and I agree that cutting both to the same length would make the most sense to maintain the same height as I'm pulling forward, I'm also assuming trying to bevel the cut edges wouldn't be necessary either...

    • @jeffgarner4114
      @jeffgarner4114 2 года назад

      @hikingrules1673 2 года назад

      @@jeffgarner4114 Thanks, I'm hoping for only having to trim off 1 to 2 inches at the most, based on the close setting of the axles and the tire size there is not a lot of room between the set of tires...

  • @popeyeandy959
    @popeyeandy959 4 года назад +1

    If you cut one to fit because the tires are too close together, does it cause the tire with the trimmed leveler to raise that tire higher and would that create any issue? Thinking no, but never used this style leveler. Also if the chock portion was tapped into place, you could pull forward a tad to release the pressure and the second person could pull them out. I would attach a short piece of line to them for safety though.

    • @AirstreamNerds
      @AirstreamNerds  4 года назад

      It does not make any difference unless you pull up on the non-trimmed one only as far as the trimmed off piece on the other one.
