Yes keep in full rain. Just make sure the drainage of pot is good. Bougainvillea gets a good growth due to the nitrogen in rains. 😊

If trimmed and fertilized properly then it starts flowering from November. There are many varieties that flower whole year like subhra, silouthee, vera etc. There are also many which flower in shade like vf ruby, vf flame, fire opal.

I have bought from local nurseries and nursery in Botanical Garden (NBRI) There I got some very good varieties . 😊
I saw lot of different colors of bougainvillea flowers in hyderabad I fell in love with them.I have pink color in my house it’s starting to bloom now thanks for all the tips you gave us Swati.since it’s so cold in Feb where I live it’s starting to grow faster as it’s summer time and I will follow your advise how to prune,how much water to put and the kind of soil to use.Thanks a million.I did not understand why my plant wasn’t growing during winter time.

Yes, very easily. You can propogate from branch or cutting. It should be brown hard / semi hard branch and not soft green.

It was well explained. I live in Delhi. I have four pots of it can i now fertilize it now. I e. Almost end of April. Not flowering much. Waiting for early reply
Yes you can fertilize. Leaf compost or Seaweed will be best in this heat. 🙂
Mera plant me sirf branch h ab naya growth aa rah h na ful h na patte h ab naye patte aa rahe h kya kiya jaye 3 mahina se kiu fertilizer nhi diya gya h m bahar tha
Keep in place where you get morning sun till 12pm. Avoid afternoon sun for 15 days. Do gudhai and light watering. Give NPK 19:19:19 once in 15 days. You will see change in a month.

Can I prune Bougainville now? My plant has got a few long branches n has just flowering now. Please reply soon
If your plant is flowering, you can delay the pruning. You can hard prune in Aug and if it is only a few small branches that need soft pruning you can do it now also . It depends on the flowering status of your plant and your preference. I personally keep on soft trimming irrespective of flowering because in the long run it gives my plant a good shape and more flowers. 🙂

Ma'am Mera plant 5 years old h but flowering nhi krra h Kya kru or ye bhi batao ki plant ko gamle ma lagane k kitne din bad us pr flowers ate h
Naya plant jo cutting se taiyyar hua hai usmein 1 year ke baad flowers aa jaate hai. Nursery se jo plant late hai wo already matured hote hai. Usme immediate flowering ho jaati hai.
Aap video mein bataye tips try kariye. Flowers zaroor aayenge.😊
Kabhi kabhi agar repotting sahi se nahi ho to plant shock mein aa jaata hai and leaves gir jaate hain. Tab next flowering season tak flowering ho jaati hai.
Mere plant m abhi flower aa rahe to kya abhi kar sakte hai.
Nahi abhi flowering complete hone dijiye. Abhi daily watering and 3rd or 4th day Gudhai karein. Spent flowers ko hatate rahein.😊

Thank ypu so much 😊. A good water bath is good for all plants, but in intervals not daily. Bougainvillea don't like moist soil so don't put any water in underneath tray. The soil needs to be dry.

Mam what is best chemical fertilizer for newly made cuttings of bougainvillea when we are reporting the cutting.
For a new cutting take a 6 inch pot. Add soil sand vermicompost/ cowdung manure and 1/4 th tsp epsom salt. To this you can add 4 balls of DAP.
Pot during the evening time. When the plant is settled after 15 to 20 days you can give NPK 19:19:19.
