      I bought a used Ferrari 458 blind around 2012. It was stupid to purchase without much more due diligence and there is no commenter here that can make it not stupid. You just get obsessed with the idea of owning your dream car and all the things you want to do with it that you make very risky decisions to achieve your goal. I got lucky however and it was a wonderful car till it was rear ended at a traffic light and the insurance company took it away.

      Watch dealers like Nico only have one thing going for them, well many, but the most important thing is integrity. I can see why Nico would assume the same of a reputable supercar dealer. Watch’s are small, cars are big. It’s far easier to check out a watch. This dealer clearly miss represented the car. I would say that Nico was stupid to wire the money to the owner, not sure what he thought he was doing there as that has a massive red flag particularly from an AML perspective which I am sure Nico is fully aware of given his business. AML and KYC are not nice to haves but mandated. Given Nico used the UK banking system he might have a case for being financially scammed.

BTW car dealers and watch dealers do get screwed sometimes in those deals too cause bad dealers will do it if they are going bankrupt or quitting efc but my dad probably bought 100 cars blind and if there was a issue it usually got sorted quickly in a cal

    When you buy a used car for twenty thousand, you go look at it, take a test drive, check the documentation, take it to a service station where they check if everything is fine and that it wasn't damaged in an accident, then you ask for a warranty and buy it. If everything is fine, of course. To blindly buy a used car worth hundreds of thousands, without seeing it, checking it out, testing it, etc., and then you're surprised because you got scammed, is, to put it mildly, naive.

    • @Podski5558

      A few hundred thousand to him is equivalent to 20k to you or I. His time is worth more to him than going to check out the car, clearly, or else he would have. Have to remember, these are just minor inconveniences to multi millionaires.

      lol I just sold my 2016 Mitsubishi MOntero Limited the other day. Buyer drove 2 hours to see the car and didn't want to do a test drive, never checked properly inside the car and definitely did not due a technical inspection....meeting took 15 minutes and he drove back...couple days later after checking his ID and asking questions I asked why he didn't checked the car properly (me knowing my car is 100% because I care) he said he felt he could trust me...week later we made a transaction...I setup a contract and he paid me my asking price around 17000 USD. When I bought my car I hired my mechanic checked several cars and did a proper test ride and asked for documentation/history etc and check the seller if he is legit

    (As you will see from the comments a rather vile troll has been having a go at me, so I thought I would clarify something. I don’t follow this channel but the video came up in my feed and piqued my interest, so I thought I would try and be helpful. I assumed this contract was made in England as the dealer, purchaser and his mates all have English accents. If the contract was made outside the U.K., then what I say below doesn’t apply, but if it was, then the following is a correct legal summary).
    Lawyer here. In general terms it is important to establish the exact legal role of the dealer, was he acting as an agent, or did he take steps that made him directly liable, for example was it him who arranged the so called seller report? Even if your usual consumer and distance selling rights do not apply, you still have other contract law based rights, particularly in this case those relating to misrepresentation. I suspect also the ‘contract’ you signed may have contained various exclusion and limitation of liability provisions, but If it is established that fraudulent misrepresentation has occurred, then those provisions would be rendered invalid by the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977. Good luck!

    I do not get all the drama over threats. Is he saying that he expects the main dealer to threaten him and his family. Thats a hell of a leap from selling a dodgy car. He only promised to give the dealers name so that must be where he feels the threats will come from. Sounds like a lot of made up drama to me. If I was the main dealer I would be contacting a lawyer over his suggestion that they will threaten him and his family. What a load of rubbish! Cannot believe Armstrong who deals with dealers all the time is getting involved in this farce.

    You have very clearly signed a contract that shows that the dealer has zero liability in this agreement. You formed a contract with the private seller and bought the car as is via that seller. Normally people view cars to verify the condition, you declined that option and simply accepted the car. The tread could easily have gone during the 100miles on the track and warning lights happen, it may happen 1 mile, 100miles or 1000 miles after you take ownership but there is no evidence there was a fault before you drove it and you did not perform reasonable tests then its your problem. Time is money i get that, but you could and should have had someone inspect the car in advance of buying it. Its an old, temperamental car that you had on a track, the paint colouring aside I do not see what grounds you think you have for any sort of action. Would a reasonable person notice the paint colouring? Maybe yes / Maybe no, your friends did not instantly notice it during the reveal so it is debatable. You do not lose your rights when buying privately, the car has to be fundamentally described accurately as far as I can tell it was.

    • @Adam-xe5xm
      @Adam-xe5xm Day ago

      Half of that is nonsense. We have no idea if he did any track driving or how many miles he did on track but it certainly was not 100 miles. I dont think they showed any of it and we dont know what point they stopped to deal with the paint issue. The main issue here is the apparently fraudulent inspection report. If the seller has fabricated a report to conceal issues with the vehicle he should have legal recourse. That is blatant fraud.

    So .... the car was not as good as expected. Well the paint is already corrected via a good polish. Now bring it to the best Lamborghini shop and have the technical issues corrected. A new waterpump with gasket, a new hydraulic pump for the gearbox and a new oxygen sensor. Then if your wise, give it 4 new tires, a fresh MOT and a big service. Done. Perfect car after that. Stop wining if you can fly a private jet and wire 270K pounds to someone you've never seen. Then you can also correct this car. And of course it is not nice, I get that, but all this fuss for a few parts, a good service and 4 tires is in my opinion to much. If you didn't wanted this, you had to go there and give the car a buyers check before buying. I'm sorry but you're dumb Nico. Learn from it.

    People in the comments have gone blind themselves because they have failed to read the video title properly. It says 'Well Known Supercar dealer'. You do not become well known by ripping off your customers, you become well known because your customers have liked what saw/what they got and passed that on to others who liked what they saw/what they got and so on and so on. They put their trust in the dealer and they get rewarded for it. The deal builds up a good customer base and a good reputation hence getting called 'Well known Supercar dealer'. Other customers have clearly put their trust in this dealer because he would not have a good reputation otherwise. So, the question is as Matt rightly points out, is the car owner scamming the dealer into using their good name and reputation to sell a faulty car by hiding stuff from the deal OR is the dealer and the car owner working together to scam the customer.
    I think you will find the guys are in the belief that the car dealer is the one doing the scam because once everyone saw the car they all noticed the difference in colour between the bumper and the rest of the car but when Nico rings the dealer to enquire about the colour difference the dealer says he did not notice any colour difference. How does the care dealer not see the colour difference when many others can? Either the car dealer is colour blind or is in on the scam with the car owner. If that is the case then the comment made by one of the guys about the car health check sheet is how Nico get's his money back because that health check sheet is fake and thus fraud has taken place because that health check sheet is what is required to help sell the car and if it turns out to be faked then the contract of sale is void.
