Two things I dont understand. One.. is Ephedia and all its other kingdoms ruled by matriarchy? Notice we have only seen the queen and her offspring utilize magic not the kings. This would mean that the daughters are the rulers and pass down their magic to their offspring. Second, Iris was more than a match for Gramorr with her Shanila and even more so with the crown's magic. Why was her mother, who had both, not able to defeat him? I suppose they could say she was still weak from childbirth but then Iris does not look like a newborn baby. She should have had enough magic to defeat him, unless Iris is more powerful than her but that still makes no sense to me as we have seen that Iris was pretty evenly matched to Talia and Auriana when she was not utilizing her Shanila. Someone please explain.
she's even cute as a baby. I really think Ellen/ellira did a good job raising iris to be a good person :) but I feel bad that the parents couldn't be there for her :( because of banes (gramorr is his puppet) but the queen did what was best to save her daughter from the hands of gramorr. I don't really blame her for keeping it a secret and I don't blame iris for being angry
