yeah, the one thing that always ticked me off was that ash stuck with stage 1 and stage 2 pokemon most of the time, he had a gible in gen 4 and didnt think that maybe evolving it might be a good idea, every other pokemon on his team for gen 4 was fine though, except maybe buizel too.
BW is one of the peaks of the series though, the only thing to fix would be how poorly they wrote TR, especially at the beginning. The rest was all a massive upgrade in quality, maturity, etc.

Ash; frequently making brain dead decisions and having one of his weakest teams of all-time. Iris; just Misty but now really obnoxious since she's not traveling with newbie Ash. Cilan; tried to fill that Brock-shaped hole, but was only okay. Honestly, in the rewrite I'm planning, one of them is getting axed. More than likely Cilan as Iris is an easy fix.

I've honestly been considering how to do a Black & White rewrite, just to fix THIS trainwreck!
