It is amazing how much satisfaction a non-pilot (like me) draws from essential and non-essential detail rich videos like this, as if my career or the safety of 150 souls behind me were dependent on it! Thank you so much sir for your time and effort in making these videos.
Practice, practice, practice. That's what's I'm learning with this new fenix. I thought "I'm comfortable with the FBW, this should be an easy migration." No, I was wrong. The fmgc is a beast in on its own to learn. "Manual" before flight discontinuity was a new one for me, figured it out finally, the autopilot is different, but these videos help....a lot! It is worth it to turn off atc and traffic and just focus on learning the aircraft. I'm finally in my first good flight, but it took rewatching these videos over and over. Thank you again 320SimPilot! The immersion is setting in just nice.
Always a wonderful insight into the operation of the A320. I'm just totally blown away by the level of system depth that Fenix have provided us. Flying it in MSFS feels like I'd be earning myself a type rating on the actual aircraft. Haha
Having moved to MSFS2020 in July and recently purchased the Fenix, I am slowly going through all of your videos for the Fenix. They provide a good refresh but for me, even more learning about how the aircraft performs. Many thanks for all your efforts in producing these videos. And they are timeless so very relevant for newcomers to Fenix and MSFS2020. Keep up the great work!! Keith
I'm so grateful for your clearly presented videos. You are a immense help to us "non-flying" pilots, it would occupy so much precious time if we had to learn all of this from manuals. Thanks again.
Genuinely grateful for your videos. They're always very well presented, informative and fun. I often find myself replicating your videos myself just to make sure I've followed correctly. A testament to you that a tired new dad like me can somewhat keep up! Thank you
320SP I'm seriously grateful for all your 320 tutorials on here. I've been strictly GA for a long time but the Fenix brought me back. I've forgotten so much so these vids are brilliant!
Brilliant as always ! I might have to replay the part about the yellow hydraulic steering at least a couple times cause I'm not sure that I really get the full added value of having it on. Thanks so much, your channel is a treasure trove of Airbus knowledge.
It's so that if you manually extend the gear you don't lose your steering hydraulic pressure. On some older airbus models the hydraulic steering is connected to the green hydraulic system, which is disconnected from the gear when you manually extend the gear. "Newer" versions have the hydraulic steering connected to the yellow hydraulic system to let you steer the plane on the ground.
I loved the part covering the failure and how to deal with it manually (as well as automatically). It would be awesome to have more of this, e.g. a video series going through all the failure possibilities and how to fix them (if possible). I'll look through your old videos to see if there's an equivalent on X-plane just in case.
@@320SimPilot Can you explain why i have the Fenix showing "fuel auto feed fault" displayed in the ECAM when im in a longer flight? Is this a normal thing that always will happen when its getting low (200 kg) in fuel in the centre tank? I have researched a bit and find that this warning appears when centre tank is below 200 kg and the innertank/ wing are above 5000 kg. But as it is always draining the centre one first, i come to the conclusion that this warning message will always appear if this is the case? It dissapears when i use the "manual switch mode" as instructed, but i dont quite understand the workings and why it is not automatic as well. Do you have a video on the fuel system topics, procedures and ecam warnings? It would be much appreciated :)
I had an ECAM warning about high brake temps on the A32NX once, after takeoff. Bit of a mystery as it was only one wheel. It suggested I consider leaving the gear down to cool the brakes, which I thought a bit iffy because of the enormous amount of drag. I did it all the same, but it was surprisingly ineffective at lowering the temperature. In the end I gave up, put the gear away and got on with the flight. Nothing caught fire, fortunately.
The fact that changing a sim setting in the iPad actually modifies the modeled cockpit in real-time is pretty insane. They've done such a good job with this airplane, it's a joy to fly!
Thank you very much for your Tutorials ! I'm a little private pilote (C172, Piper PA28, Robin DR400...) and I try to Fly the A320 much more realistic as possible Thank you 👍👏
Just got the Fenix for Xmas 2023 so these videos are priceless, thanks so much for making them. One Q - so it is OK to go into reverse thrust in the flare after the main gear touches down but before the nose gear is on the ground?
The colours on you sim looks amazing. Are you using any Nvidea filter? I’m watching all your FENIX Videos and taking notes of everything I didn’t know yet. Learning a lot. By the way, I’m a real pilot too, flying the ATR72.
The FLS option in this aircraft is set up to do either FLS or FINAL APP depending on option selected. You can't do an RNP (AR) with FLS so you have to turn it off in the options. Toliss have the more modern version where the aircraft has both but on the PERF APP page normally it will say FLS/FINAL APP and you select which one if you're doing RNP but will be FINAL APP only if doing RNP (AR)
I thought the main reason for the switch from G to Y for the NWS was because if you did a gravity extension due to gear failure or loss of green pressure on the older aircraft you'd automatically loose the NWS (because you have to shut off green system to the gear). But if it's on the yellow system then you can taxi off the runway yourself because it'll still be working
Please make a video on setting up the Fenix with all control settings specific to Fenix A320 only. A lot of us struggle to get started with basic command set Up
Could you kindly share your sound settings that gets your cockpit so quiet in these videos? It used to be this way for me on the FBW mod but on the fenix, the only way for me to keep the cockpit quiet is turn off the ventilation (blower and extract and cabin fans). And thanks again for sharing your knowledge. Amazingly educational videos
A few questions, if you don’t mind: A.) Do the taxi lights shut off when the gear is retracted? B.) when you lose an engine, say to fire, and secure it, why is ignition kept on? I realize power is shut off from the fire panel, but is the ignition kept on simply to make sure the one good engine cannot flameout? C.) what is the rationale for the side stick being depressed up to 80-100 kts?
Hi, first of all, thank you for those great quality videos. Is it possible to explain a little bit about the DDRMI option in the sim settings. Thank you
Is FLS used for LPV approaches? This would be a different approach. LPV vs LNAV/VNAV. Same approach plate but different minima’s and therefore could be interesting to buy by airliners.
No. FLS is still limited to LNAV/VNAV minimums. For LPV minimums the aircraft has to be capable of using SBAS and using the 5 digit code seen on charts with LPV minimums. On Airbus this then allows for an SLS approach. The Toliss A321Neo can do this
Your videos are so helpful ! I have a question about oil consumption. I read that it supposed to be simulate but on my flights my oil quantity doesn't change. And when I start a new flight with the same livery the oil quantity is not the same as my previous flight
Hi mate, I just wanna say a huge thanks for your fantastic videos, which have taught me a heck of a lot. Could I just ask what recording software you use? Thanks !
Thanks for your in-depth videos. I have been following along with your videos using my Fenix A320 and developing a list of commands, actions for me to follow. I also have been blessed to have a Delta A320 pilot as a friend that I can email/text questions to, best of both worlds. Question on your sponsored computer systems. Obviously a wide range of prices. Which would you recommend for a MSFS 2020, X-Plane 12 (soon?) DCS pilot purchase? Thanks you.
Thank you for the explanations. Very well explained! Do you use rudder pedals? I've noticed that you keep very well the centerline on take-off. I'm struggling with that. Which are the settings you have for the rudder? Can you share it, please?
I recently had a yellow hydraulic overheat, with my NW steering on yellow, so it warned me that it didn’t work. However, I could steer normally, I assume this is a (small) bug. But overall it’s such an amazing aircraft!
Very interesting to get that fault! Even with an overheat your steering and yellow system may remain pressurised unless you specifically turn it off following ECAM. Thanks for watching!
Both times I’ve flown this lovely aircraft, the FAC’s have failed halfway through the flight, & the RAT drops out. Is there something that I could be doing wrong in the flight setup? I’m used to flying the fly by wire version and maybe I’m missing a step & loosing power?
Glideslope is more of a scenery instead simulator issue. Some airport does this, others can do perfect autoland on Fenix. Some even worst with way off center landing.
The only thing that they need to adress is, that these options load in the moment you choose a livery. So far you still have to press the blue "Use Airline Settings" button.
Thx once again for a great video. It is really helpful. One question: When at cruising altitude in managed mode and getting close to T/D I'll set a new alt by turning the alt knob. But I don't get blue armed ALT. And the AC will not start to descend automaically when passing T/D. When trying to pull the knob once again to confirm managed mode the AC will start to descend before T/D. What am I doing wrong...? :-(
2 first as it pressurises yellow system for parking brake then 1. If doing a 1 engine taxi then start 1/keep 1 on and shut off2/keep engine 2 off as you can use the yellow electric pump to pressurise yellow system
Some experience from my side - note that if you upgrade your CPU / Motherboard, the Fenix program will not run when you login. I read this is linked to DRM, I contacted Fenix asking them for help, no response after 3 days. So be aware you may have to repurchase if you upgrade / change your computer in the future.

They also said that if you reinstall Windows/Upgrade your PC/Buy a new PC, you can contact support and they will reset the system link. There is absolutely no reason you should rebuy the addon in this case. Their support ptobably just hasn't gotten to your ticket yet. Try contacting the staff on Discord directly.
Do you guys also have a problem with pushback? I mean it doesn't work 100% percent of time, how could they miss that during the testing. And the second thing, at cruise level, is it normal that engines are constantly changing thrust? I've heard that no, and if that is a mistake indeed, i can't imagine how it pass the testing as well :/
Lots and lots of new info for me - having to unlearn so much from 4 years flying the FS Labs buses ! I notice no 'rotate' call is heard at V2 - is this usual in the real world or have Fenix just not modelled it ?

Great video as always! I was wondering, when would you use the “crank” engine mode?
Used to turn engine without fuel injection. This helps cool engine in case of a failed hot start or overheated engine parts.
When washing the engine. At least that's what I saw on RUclips.
Thanks for the great info you provide on this channel. Where do those runway textures come from ? Thanks.

why not keep anti-ice always on?
Because it uses bleed air from the engines. They're not electrically heated so they can cause power to reduce slightly
