In early Dec 1942 after testing, no arm wanted it - Armor, TD, Calvary - but contract required two pilots. The first pilot was rebuilt in order to satisfy the contract requirements, becoming the T55E1. T55E1 was not suitable either despite the changes, but its "bogie suspension with chain drive" was deemed worthy of further study, and would later show up on heavy trucks. I'm trying to decide if this thing would be any good irl and I am struggling. On the one hand it'd be amazing for supporting infantry and armoured manouvres. It could easily keep up with the pace of the battle and give AT support wherever needed. On the other hand it might be so fast that people would be reckless with it and also... defenseless against artillery. But so are AT guns which I imagine this would act as so idk. I think it probably would have done great if it was used properly and not as a go cart with a gun lmao
