This was our first time riding in the mountains. We stayed at the Twin Hollow Campgrounds, this place was amazing! They had everything: Nice flat and mostly level campsites, great view, all the accommodations (shower, bathrooms, laundry room, food etc…) and friendly staff that are always there so arriving late isn’t an issue. We highly recommend this campground to anyone.
It rained the day before we got there and a little bit each day during our stay. The trails held up just fine and there were no deep muddy sections. There really wasn’t much mud at all and the puddles were very shallow.
From the Twin Hollow campground to the city of Man took us about 1.8 hours of bike time and both bikes used exactly one gallon of gas. It took about the same amount time and fuel to get to Horsepen Mountain from the campground.
The trail difficulty markings are very accurate. We are both C class riders and we found that the double black diamond trails were extremely difficult, just like the warning sign says. The black trails were also very difficult. We definitely recommend bringing a front pull strap and a long light weight tow strap for these trails. We didn't ride too much of the single track because it was too overgrown as shown in the video. Also a hard terrain tire might of helped us get up some of these rocky climbs easier and would have lasted longer. Both our rear tires got chewed up quiet a bit.
This trip was lots of fun and we can't wait to go back next year!

Great vid and nice riding! The gopros just don't give enough justice to how steep and rocky those trails are. Buddy and I just got back from the same trip! Stayed at Twin Hollow, same trails, and even ate at the same pizza joint in Mann. Glad to see other people struggle on some of those climbs! Wish they would do a better job of keeping up the single tracks but the place is amazing. Thanks for posting!

Twin Hollow Campground and the Rockhouse trail system make for one awesome experience, we went back last year and did the same thing. This year we are going to stay at the Outback ATV cabins in Matewan and ride the Devil Anse/Buffalo Mountain trails. There will be a video of that trip too. Hopefully it will be just as good. It would be better if they could maintain the single track but it seems to only be ride-able in the spring or late fall due to the thick brush.

It's very rough. The 450fx can make all the way up without too much trouble, way more difficult on the RM.

Ohio Dirtbike well I’m gonna give a try in April on my CRF250X. What trail # was that?

@@algee8228 Trail 94. Easy to find. I'm betting your 250X will do much better than the RM. If you go the same direction, bring a really long tow strap in case you get stuck like we did. When you get to the top, take the single track trail all the way out to the lookout. We stopped short of the lookout in this video, you have to keep riding the top of the mountain to get there. It might not be a bad idea to buy one of the Shinko Cheater rear tires for some added traction.

Looks and sounds like that RM is still set up for moto not enduro. Softer suspension, fly wheel weight, different gearing, Rekluse?

I set it up for this type of riding but it does still need more tuning. It has softer suspension (race tech), a fly wheel weight and +2 teeth in the rear sprocket. This set up works okay, but the suspension needs to be softened up even more and a gnarly pipe would probably help out a lot if it were available still. I upgraded to a ktm 250 xc-w, it is so much better on the trails but the RM is still better on the track which is expected.

Ohio Dirtbike interesting. I have a 05 kx250 set up for xc and it is on par with my friends Ktms. It just vibrates more. I can deal with the vibration while they all have bike payments lol.

Nice video. When you say "C Class Riders" , what exactly do you mean? Average? Or Class C Racers? Curious.
