2nd Place at UK Championship 2023
DNF was because the timer stopped before the solve did.
Mixed feelings about this one. I'll write everything here, you can read if you care.
In the first round of the comp, I got a DNF first solve for the same reason as in the final. This made the first round really nerve-wracking but the last 4 solves were solid safety solves and I won the round. The average certainly could have been sub-2 considering the scrambles and how good the first solve actually was, but obviously I couldn't take any risks seeing as another DNF would see me bow out of the UK Championship last place in the first round.
The second round was mediocre. Bad scrambles and a +2 left me with a high-2 average but honestly round 2 is the most irrelevant round if the scrambles are bad so this didn't really matter to me.
So now we move onto the final and I was pretty hyped for this going into it. Going in as 2nd seed was nice. Last UKC I was 4th seed which really just isn't the same but this time there was a definite sense that either me or Daniel was going to win. However, this feeling was quickly stopped. The first solve being a DNF was honestly an absolute killer. It wasn't a good solve anyway (terrible layer making skills and fingertricks) but getting a DNF on it was just so disappointing.
The second solve was no better. Knowing that any bad solve would kill my chances at a win made me really nervous and you can see the turning being super shaky and bad. At this point, I pretty much knew I couldn't win because obviously Daniel knew how I did in the first 2 solves and could just safety his way to the win, which is exactly what he did. The real aim for the last 3 solves was to make sure I didn't slip down to 3rd place.
The last 3 solves were solid. They were definitely safety solves but not too much, so still respectable times. Considering the circumstances these last 3 were really good, and I'm so happy that I was able to perform despite the situation I was in. It would have been so easy to get angry and lose concentration in that moment but I kept it together and managed to get myself a podium.
Overall, I'm happy that I clutched the average up but disappointed about what could have been. I've improved so much since the last UKC and my average reflects that, even though the actual time was pretty bad. Hopefully I'll be back at the next UKC even better, but before that is the Euros, which is my next real focus.
Congrats to Daniel for winning and to Nathan for coming 3rd. It'll be interesting to see what people like him and Caleb will do in terms of pyraminx in the future, I guess we'll have to see.
Thanks for reading all that, I appreciate it. Next video will be a full L4E algorithms video and then the following video should be an exciting one.

I don't have it but here's my review.
The turning is probably mediocre but it doesn't really matter because it's a non-WCA puzzle.
In terms of how fun it is to solve watch this: ruclips.net/video/yQUML4A9acs/видео.htmlsi=__EIkteBcKekevh1
