I’ve been a fan since I was 11 years old (1982 - God I’m old). This song goes back to 1985 when it appeared on the flip side of the Raspberry Beret vinyl single. What’s amazing about this version is how Prince updated it for his collaboration with 3RDEYEGIRL but it keeps in touch with the original 1985 studio recording. Definitely find the original recording - it’s readily available everywhere. It’s a trip to compare them side by side. And listen to more Prince. Everyone should listen to more Prince! 💜
It was actually a B Side of Raspberry Beret which came out in 1985. Great video. Appreciate you letting the clip play all the way through with no interruptions.
Anyone who loves good musical talent must subscribe to the music of Prince. He self taught himself 27 instruments. Plays the guitar as well or better than Hendrix. Has a vocal range that's out of this world. Danced better than any female in heels. Wrote his own musical and several top selling songs for other artist. Had a catalog of music that extends beyond any imagination and his music was not limited to any particular genre he played it all. Prince is the GOAT!
Cece, welcome back!! Originally this was the B-side of Prince's single "Raspberry Beret" 1985. 3RDEYEGIRL, is an American funk rock band and was Prince's backing band from his 2014 return to Warner Music until his death in 2016.
Prince was awesome. One of my favorite artists of all time. I saw him back in 1985 when he was on tour with Sheila E and The Time. I had most of his albums on vinyl and CD as well as many of his side project bands. He was in so many bands and wrote so many songs, that most people don't even know about. Thank you for doing a Prince video !!! I remember the night Prince did this show (he did the WHOLE show that night...lol)
You're right. Prince was a top-level performer, who could do it all. You can't take your eyes off of a Prince performance, because you don't want to miss something. For pure blues guitar badassery, I recommend his live cover of the Jimi Hendrix song, _Red House_ (Prince calls it _"Purple House"_ , of course :) If you want to see Prince interact with the audience, and make the ladies swoon, check out his live, solo, acoustic performance at Webster Hall, in 2004, especially the song, _Cream_ .
The genius of the song is that it is about a dysfunctional relationship. The phrase "She's always in my hair" means that he can't get rid of her. No matter what he does wrong, she is there on his side. And he can't stand it. The darkest lyric is " Maybe I'll marry her. Maybe I won't."
For starters im always thrilled when the younger generation discovers real music....only thing is it was released in the 80s as a bside( bside is a song on back of the major single released on a 45 rpm record....12inch or cassingle).it was releassd in 1985 on the bside of Paisley Park from the cd Around the world in a day(the follow up cd after Purple Rain) But keep learning about real music 😁
Cool song. I still have the original 12 inch vinyl of that song from 1986, the original release date. If u listen to the original version, it ll sound like "pop life" which was from the same era using an abstract drumbeat. Cool breakdown of the song u did
Oh my goodness, CeCe you're back!!!!!!!! All of us "Centies" and "Good People" missed you so much!!!!!!! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas, along with your family and all of your loved ones!!! In the meantime, we enjoyed the ride along vlogs because it gave us the opportunity to stay connected, but it's good to know that you're back to do music reactions too!!! BTW, this was a very good reaction to come back with!!! Prince had a lot of hits and as you said, he was a great performer who knew how to capture the attention of his audience!!! I personally like these songs by him: "When Doves Cry," "Red Corvette," "Rasberry Berret" & "Kiss."
I've missed you guys as well and I hope that you and yours had a Merry Christmas. I really appreciate you supporting our channel. Those are some really nice Prince songs and I really like 'Diamonds and Pearls' as well. So many too choose from.
Prince - Always In My Hair Live Ft. 3rdeyegirl is so funky! What do you think?

Prince was the Goat in my opinion
Indeed!
Definitely the goat. He was musician zero for everything I listen to today. From ACDC to Led Zeppelin😂

You missed a part of the songs premise. Yes there was a woman that was there in his corner, but he found it annoying- hence, “She’s Always In My Hair”
