Love The Gilded Age! Can't wait for Season 3! I love all the characters & Season 2 ending set up so many interesting cliffhangers! I think this series is going to get better & better as time goes on. I only wish we wouldn't have to wait so long between seasons but as long as it's coming back, I'm happy!
I’m so excited! I just found this show a few months ago and finished season two last week. It took me a few episodes to get into, but now I’m hooked. Definitely excited about Larry and Marian, and I wonder if the fact that Ada inheriting “new” money will have Agnus changing her mind about families with “new” money.

I can’t wait for the 3rd season and I’m not sure why more people are not watching it. I wish they would make more episodes with the new season.

I doubt that about Gladys Russell-because it's a historical fact that American heiresses married impoverished British nobility at the time. I believe Lady Diana Spencer's grandmother was an American heiress. I think Gladys will embrace the marriage and end up being more like her mother when she discovers her new power through the marriage. This was also featured in Downton Abbey - Cora, an American heiress, had married the Duke of Grantham.
Downton Abbey is a series about England's history, but The Gilded Age is about our American history and I think it is fantastic.
I wish that they would do at least 10 episodes 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I like how Larry went for it.
The entire production is flawless in all respects. The ability to capture and/or create realistic synthetic scenes is pure magic. The acting, costumes and storyline are first class. I for one look forward to many more seasons of this series.
Love the show. Keep in mind that at that time many broke Brits with titles shopped for rich brides in the US to restore their family fortunes. Arranged marriages were common and few people were able to marry for love.

So glad Guilded Age is coming back for Season 3. I really got into it when I binged watched Season 1 and 2 again.
I am obsessed with the show and cannot wait until season 3 comes out. I even got my husband, who is a very serious, Yale/ Oxford graduate doctor, interested in watching this show. It has everything in it, and it's literally the best series out there.

I like how it combine the filthy rich and working class. I didn’t get that from DA. I like that it’s not all snow. That Black people did exist and some were well to do and educated. The show doesn’t seem like it just throw some color into the mix like some shows. The Black characters are relevant in the time period. I must admit I had to look up some of the name, for there realism, so it educated me. I agree the series should be extended to ten episodes. I was both happy and sad about Ada. I wonder if Agnes is too late for a love affair?
Haven't got much sleep watching Seasons 1 & 2. I enjoy watching Julian Fellowes work on the screen and though this one had a slow go it picked up speed and left me anxious for more. I truly hope at the mid point of 2024 that Season 3 is out for our continued excitement. And what the commentator left hints on regarding supposed extra actors is hopeful as well. Also, Julian is coming out with another movie of Downton Abbey and its referencing with America should have more input. Grateful.

So happy third season is coming. George promised Gladys could marry who she wanted if I remember right. It will interesting how the Russel’s will change. Great characters love how some are the characters are real people. Mrs Astor the first mean girl! Great narrative.

I agree with the previous comment. Have you actually watched Downton Abbey? Cora Grantham is not English born. She is in fact of American dissent she married into the Grantham family who are English. Would it be nice to see the shows crossover absolutely boring your possible slip of the tongue regarding Cora’s heritage. I agree with you on the story plots of Gladys, Larry and Marion. But that being said, I would also like to see further representation of Dalshal and his 14-year-old daughter. One thorn in my side,l come (being a person with a physical disability, who is wheelchair bound) is the cruise lack of respect for Disability parking spaces in Troy New York. They routinely filming this location and utilize our spaces for filming trailers. For this reason, I think it would be a nice touch to include an additional storyline for historical accuracy regarding the plight of the disabled and institutionalization.
She married into the Crawley family, not Grantham. Robert was the Earl of Grantham. That was his title not his surname. It would be passed onto whoever inherits his title, regardless of their surname.

Larian! Both sides will object to their love for each other, but I think Season 3 will feature the marvelous wedding of Marian and Larry, two people so well-suited to each other.
I know right! I work in a salon and every time I mention this series people look at me like I have two heads. This is such an awesome series. Everyone knows about Downton Abbey, but not enough. People are talking about this one. And this one is far better.
I think it will achieve the praise it deserves once it ends - which is unfair
I’m excited TGA has been picked up for another season. It feels like the kiss between Larry and Marion got put there not just as springboard into season three but as a somewhat satisfying placeholder just in case there wasn’t a season three renewal. Something to hint what would have been the resolution of Marion and Larry’s romantic storylines. If they had been given renewal fairly early on, perhaps Julian Fellows wouldn’t have rushed things on that front.
That said - can’t wait until season three to see how things progress in the various storylines. PARTICULARLY the Ada/Agnes power dynamic shift. Prepare for some low level fireworks on that front!

Do you actually watch these shows? It's Ada not Adda. Cora from Downton IS American not British, especially at 15 she likely had never even been to UK. Her marriage to Robert won't happen for years.

Anyone in America who missed The Gilded Age, Seasons 1, 2, and soon 3 are really missing out! Julian Fellowes is an incredible writer and producer. The Gilded Age is better than Downton Abbey, because it is the American story, the invention of the light bulb, the dedication of Brooklyn Bridge in New York, the Statue of Liberty, early beginnings of Unions, and most powerful of all the series dispels the idea that Black families didn't have class, charm, style, and friendship among Black and White people. It is a powerful series and I'm looking forward to Season 3!

I can’t wait for season 3 as much as I like Bertha if she ends up forcing her daughter to marry the Duke and the family turns on against her I don’t think I will have much sympathy for her. Yes she ambition but there has to be a point there she says no the price is to eye and my kids happiness comes before me getting what I want.

I love these period series. I especially love the fact they have great dialogue and no vulgar language. Hopefully they will keep it PG and not add graphic sex screens. Fade to black works. I would love to watch Outlander but it’s just soft porn. Keep it historically accurate please.

With all the care that went into costumes and details of living, it puzzles me, that casting stayed so behind. Take Martin Scorsese's The Age of Innocence. The faces of his characters appear as if they stepped down from the paintings in the Frick collection. They feel already familiar when you first see them. Missed opportunity.

I agree. Every single character has a function in the series, no one seems out of place. And almost every single one of them is inspired by real-life people, which mesmerizes me

@@KECarter A few of the characters from Johnstown are acting like prims donnas demanding their own high end trailers and catered platters of lunch meat and deer jerky so the final edits are off schedule. If all goes well the 3rd season should air in October 2O24 with the first episode being the flood in Johnstown and the introduction of Andrew Carnegie into the cast of characters

I can tell you why it has underwhelming popularity- it's inauthentic historical presentation and silly "woke" characters & notions that never existed at that time. I think one character talked about "better health care for the workers" 😂

Well actually the popularity of the series is over 29 percent for demand in the United States compared to 2.7 percent which is the average for a television series as for the inauthentic historical presentation it is not meant to be 100 percent authentic many things are and many are not it's a Drama creative non fiction.
So mean spirited. It’s TV, not a documentary. “Never” existed is quite a big call when using ‘woke’ in a prejudicial commentary. Surely you are the woke person when expecting TV dramas to be 100% representations of the period and reflections on how all people interacted (or should?). I am sniffing Trumpism in the air.

Tried, watching a couple episodes at a past time. Too sugary sweet visuals.. characters trying too hard, characters not as unique as Downtown by far... cardboard cutouts compared to D. Not, judging actors, just tat those who put the show together missed, by alot.
