I love every single one of these coasters, but in my opinion the dominator is far better than the rebel yell. Also, RIP volcano, one of the best rides at kings dominion.
I was there at Kings Dominion this past Friday. My first trip there, and I really enjoyed it. I got to ride 6 of the coasters and this is how I would rank them. 1) Intimidator 305, 2) Volcano, 3) Twisted Timbers, 4) Dominator, 5) Anaconda, 6) Racer 75. Both Anaconda and Racer 75 hurt my neck. I really enjoyed the top 4 coasters though. I was very surprised at how good Volcano and Dominator were. I knew I-305 and Twisted Timbers were going to be good and they lived up to my expectations. I wanted to ride Flight of Fear but it was closed while I was there. I do think the park needs another really good coaster to improve their line up. Overall, I think Kings Dominion has a good line up of coasters and I want to visit the park again.
I'm really happy that Volcano was open on May 4th. I know it has been down most of the year. Good timing on my part I guess. I hope to go back to Kings Dominion soon and ride Flight of Fear.
Volcano is always closed when I go, but strangely Flight of Fear has always been open. I love dark coasters like that and I think it's one of the better ones I've been on.
Racer 75 is definitely better than anaconda now that they have improved the track a bit. I get a headache 100% of the time I go on anaconda and it isn't even a fun ride to begin with
Agreed! Still my favorite coaster in the park. Not the fastest, no loops, no intense g's like the newer coasters, but the hardest riding coaster in the park. Love it.
I ride the FOF for the first time in the 90s, when it had the overhead restraints...the head banging was brutal, so much so that I wouldn't ride it again until they fixed that. I rode a couple more times since then, including this year (2022), and it is still a fun and favorite ride.
Intimidator 305 looks like it would have been my favorite rollercoaster to ride out of all the ones listed on here! But then again, who knows because they all looked fun to ride! Greetings from LA, California!
is anyone else old enough to remember when the volcano coaster wasn't even there? I think there was a smurf ride or something in the mountian? there was also a ride called the time shaft that spun in a circle and centrifugal force held you against the wall and the floor dropped away.
The Rebel Yell is STILL running?! It's like the very first coaster built in Kings Dominion! The Flight of Fear is...exactly that. My friend and I stood in line for two hours to get on it the day it debuted. But when we saw the launch we almost changed our minds.
My favorites are as follows:1-Flight of Fear. 2-Blast coaster. 3-The Anaconda. 4-The Grizzly. I also used to ride Shock Wave, which was a stand-up coaster, but they discontinued that one sometime within the past several years. Kings Dominion is so much fun. I highly recommend it!

Ronald Shank Well before twisted timbers the last coaster added was the intimidator, there was a gap of about 8 years so not much has happened as far as adding coasters , the shockwave was replaced by an awesome giant frisbee ride called delirium , and in the somewhat near future we will probably see a new coaster where volcano currently sits, just out of curiosity when was the last time you went? Because the changes I’m talking about are like the last ten years but if you’ve been away for longer I can go more in depth :)

The anaconda was the first dollar coaster with a loop in it that I had ever experienced and to this day its still one of my favorite Rollercoasters. It's roughness leaves me shaken up which, in all honesty, is what I want in a roller coaster experience. I wanna feel the excitement that the pain gives me, it's one of my favorite parts
It is. During the day it was nothing to me. Rode it at night in the back and thought it was going to derail and fly into the trees. A buddy and me actually came out the tunnel holding on to each other for dear life lol.
They're definitely gonna replace it with something worthwhile. They removed Hurler to massive outrage and replaced it with the amazing Twisted Timbers, they'll do the same again!

I'm retired from riding roller coasters but that intimidator looks so lip smackingly tempting K Dominion has raised the bar on that one hadn't been there since 1996, intimidator looks like fun, I would ride it til I over dose
On flight of fear me and my friend had a normal conversation on it, and the part that makes it even funnier (in my opinion) is the it was our first time riding it!
I just remember the first time I was on the Volcano I was like obsessed with the musical Hamilton at the time so when it was that very slow launch at the beginning I was just singing some of the songs to calm myself down and then the big speedy part came up and I was just screaming my head off because I forgot I was on a rollercoaster.
I've ridden 5 of these coaster probably long before any of you were born , we were there on opening day in 72 or 73 when it was Loin Country Safari . love them I think the Scooby Doo ride for kids was very cool . but what was the ride you stood up on ? didn't last long it was close to the bumper cars . the park was a blast to have in Va. and close to Northern Va. but i still love the rides at at Bush Gardens more .

They haven’t used the helicopter/gun sound effects on the Stunt Coaster for like 2 years now. And the Grizzly is abandoned now right next to Twisted Timbers.

I was just there today. The Intimidator 305 is pretty much the best coaster I've ever been on. Anaconda and Grizzly are just rough AF.

The most scariest one in my opinion is Intimidator 305 The speeds and the drop will make you black out but I would highly recommend it

Pro tip. If you like rides that have long lines go around 1-3. Lines are empty because everyone is eating lunch.
