Good patient education is critical when caring for pregnant women and their families. I know this subject is a little scary but its very important we know what to look out for if an emergency arises.
This is an awesome summary. It’s really helpful when I can tie s/s to an organ or some physiology. For example epigastric or RUQ pain is related to an increase in liver enzyme in pre-eclampsia. Please correct me or share a better way to think about this! Wide spread organ damage pre-eclampsia: Kidney- oliguria, GFR decreased, proteinuria Liver- epigastric/ RUQ pain, increase in liver enzymes Microvascular- HA, dizziness, vision changes Brian- confusion, muscle irritability/hyperreflexia, risk for seizure Cardio/respiratory - edema, BP, SOB
This video is so incredible encouraging. I hope to have a special, thoughtful and supportive nurse like you when I am ready. Thanks for sharing this great information.

Oh no! The point of the video isn't to scare you just to let you know what to look out for and when to call the doctor.
