What you will find is that BTS is so diverse, you will start liking new genres. Who would have ever thought at age 53 I would love Korean rap and be giddy about going to see Agust-D in a movie theater? I personally love V and all his music. But, I love all the boys and their solo work. It is fun discovering new things about yourself! (Although my older sister and brother think I have lost my mind.) That was my 2 cents. I listen to their music depending on my mood, like V for the jazzy laundry days, JK for the dancey cleaning day, Jin for the introspective vibes, jimin for the dancey dancing and any of the rap lines for courage and to bad b!tch hyping up. Yes, the songs on his album are love songs with an air of melancholy. But the subtext here, which you can see in the MVs, particularly in the Slow Dancing MV, but there are hints in all of them, is that he is singing about wanting to build a virtual world where he can run away with BTS and ARMY and just be together. The name of the album is Layover, which means a stop along the way, a pause in a journey, a rest before you continue. He is referring to having to leave BTS and ARMY and go into the military, stepping away from his life for a moment. The virtual world of Layover is a fantasy place to run away to be together in our minds with him, and in his mind with us, while he is in the military. Apparently, we are supposed to run away with him to the Spanish Mediterranean coast in our minds, since he filmed all the MVs there. LOL Most of the love songs BTS puts out, and many other songs as well, are directed at ARMY. Multiple members have said they always think about ARMY when writing or choosing love songs. All their albums, as a group or solo, are concept albums with a theme or story to tell.
Taehyung here is my bias alongside Suga/AgustD. His voice and unexpected MVs/ideas are always refreshing. His brain just thinks non linearly. I can easily imagine him saying “I’d like to look like a gold disco ball doing old karaoke in a cave”. I’d suggest diving into Suga AgustD because next week only is his concert in theaters which I can’t recommend enough checking out. We try not to think negative. But if you like K-pop that every song/album takes you off guard BTS little brothers are TXT the only other group under BigHit (Hybe does have other labels with groups like Seventeen, Enhypen, LeSserafim, New Jeans, &Team, and more all of which are great!).
Because you’re from the US, we think a little bit differently than international music fans. Don’t start a situation of trying to find the worst K-pop group to the best because you will start pitting fandoms against other fandoms. And once those fandoms start defending their favorite groups that you might think is not a good K-pop group that environment becomes very very toxic. BTS does not need to continue to have a toxic fan background or other fandoms coming for them. Just listen to the different groups and experience the vast numbers of amazing songs.

tried to get you to start Old School..lol....anyways.....I just want to GIVE you a reference to HOW SPECIAL V IS. BTS did a series called " American Hustle Life". Quick summary, they were sent to LA to LEARN the ROOTS of Hip-Hop from several Mentors. A couple I have never heard of but a few I DID KNOW. BTS members had several missions and were sometimes divided into teams. At one point, SUGA, J. K. and V had to go to a Studio to meet a Vocal Coach to learn tips. THAT VOCAL COACH was none other than MISS IRIS STEVENSON, who had a hand in " Sister Act 2". The VERY FIRST time she heard V sing , she flat out told him that he had SOUL and that it made her want to hear MORE. Now THAT could not be MORE of an Honor in MY EYES. There is SO MUCH you NEED to see and I hope ARMIES are getting you up to speed as well..... But yes.... you really should start from the beginning BEFORE you go any further. So, I've been watching you since you started your journey and it's really interesting and fun seeing you discover the BTS, right now Mr. Kim Taehyung himself. BTS is very unique in that they have 7 actual artist...there are no backup members in the group. They all play their part yes, but no one is above any other. Each member has their own vibe. I would recommend that you do a members week where you do what you've just done with Taehyung with the other members. They all have an album (with the exception of Jin who will do his once he is out of the military in June) with great music to explore. Some may or may not be your taste. Tae is def soulful and jazzy, none of the members are quiet like him. In fact non of the members are like each other in terms of their music although their are similarities between them. Now that you've started with BTS, I regret to inform you that you might be disappointed with kpop if you are looking for what you are getting from BTS. BTS is from the kpop industry, but they're not really kpop. They make real music, not just flashy, gimmicky, catchy tune, with great visuals/videos to cover up the bad music/song. They make fun music as well, but even those have real meaning and substance for the most part. That's not to say there aren't kpop group that make some good songs/music, but they are few and far between. Since you started with a vocal line member, I would recommend doing rap line next and then coming back to vocal. How about RM, AgustD, or JHope. JHope just dropped a new album last week "Hope on the street". You might enjoy it.

Sorry this will be so long, but just like when other reactors have asked before, who’s your favorite Rapper ( asked usually in BTS ) all 3 are my favorite in their Style of Rap, all 7 members bring their own unique talent and voice to the group, for 10 yrs that is who we saw, all 7, but now with solo careers starting, not everyone is going to have the same taste, I love both Tae and JK, they are hopeless romantics with their solo song’s and again, even they have a little different styles, while Tae and JK both like romantic songs ( per them ) Tae has the deep baritone, jazzy style and JK has a more pop style, according to Tae, he thinks that JK has the best voice in Korea, but I can’t chose one over the other. Man, I get you. LOL BTS is a hard act to follow, and they are indeed the pinnacle of the industry and the world. But, don't worry, there are a lot of great artists in KPop and in Korean music in general. You could just check out whoever is big right now in KPop, rising stars and groups, but another way to approach it might be to discover other artists through BTS, through their friendships and their collabs with them, because they have fantastic taste in artists to collab with and music in general and have collabed with many Korean artists, and they have great taste and discernment in friends. I could recommend some collab songs or artists they are friends with, and then you could check out the other artists on their own if you like them.
BTS has so so so mamy songs as a group and earlier solos that it will last you till their comback in 2025. Also, please bear in mind that BTS is bigger than kpop. Althougt there is a lot of talented groups and soloists in kpop, none of them reaches BTS' level. But if you like discovering new artist you will find plenty of fantastic musicians, performers and individuals in kpop. Just don't expect them to be on the same level. It has nothing to do with talent but mostly with the construction of kpop world, where idols have tons of restrictions, and don't have artistic freedom. BTS were different from the beggining, coming from small company nobody ecpected them to behave in that way on another, while those groups debuting under big companies have to follow the rules, therefore they are not always able to show their full potential. Im not Korean, but from what I read before BTS kpop was considered a type of music for teenagers. Only after BTS gained popularity in West, older people started to see them as actual artists. But a lot of new kpop groups still choses to make simpler songs directed towards younger audience. Nevertheless enjoy!
Nothing wrong with starting with the best. BTS will keep you going for ages and there are some other awesome k groups out there. Try “Very Nice” by Seventeen. It’s so much fun. Also, I think you might like the band The Rose. I recommend “Sorry”, their debut and their cover of ILYSB.
Yes well too late pal, you started with BTS, now you'd have difficulty in listening others, I mean you can, but BTS are just the best ! Music, lyrics, universe, messages, personalities, discography, and yeah, visuals lol. The worst groups. Never listened to them. Ummm. TRUTH. The worst groups...the girl KPop groups who are just cutsy and sing cutsy songs. Or their dance is only seductive stripper pole moves. No depth. No serious art. No real musical quality. I, however, love IU. And she did go through her cutsy phase. But now she just puts out quality. She has her own interview show called "Palette". She interviews groups and musicians and singers. Plus she has a Live Band. When V was on her show, she sang "Love Me Again" arranged by her musical director. V sang a solo. Then IU and V sang the most beautiful duet.

I was just thinking of you the other day. Why are you looking for "The Group" when BTS Is The Group? I didn't want to hear that intro any more. Jungkook has solos as well as his top hits (Euphoria and more). Jimin has a voice and style you can't beat, and he has solos, obviously on his album but before. There is an entire playlist of V's songs, including soundtracks, which you won't find on video (mostly). Just search "V playlist" and follow your nose. You've heard some vocal line songs, not all. And the whole group has very sweet songs - Magic Shop, Spring Day. You might like Angel pt 2 with Jimin and Charlie Puth, or Wildflower with RM. So stop thinking you will find it elsewhere. It's here. Don't waste your time.

When it comes to 'Kpop' you have to find your own way. I think it will become obvious when you start listening to other groups that the difference is there. BTS have never really fitted into the Kpop sphere, they make some pop and are Korean so they have been lumped into Kpop. And 'the west' also like to categorise and limit them as 'Kpop' to keep them out of major award categories as they blow western artists out of the water! Just note that BTS do not mind being in that category either as they respect and love Kpop/Korean artists and they are great friends with many groups. People try and make Kpop or Boyband into something derogatory but BTS will NOT be categorised. They don't like labels. Maybe move on to another member when you have finished Tae's solos. Maybe RM, the leader of the group? He has two mixtapes and an official album so plenty to get your teeth into again!💜

I love them all but would have never thought I would listen to rap let alone go to a concert held by Suga, a rapper. Fly across the Unites States to attend his concert. I've seen his concert live, online, or in theaters over 10 times within 2-3 months). Why would you want the worst of anything, especially when the best has over 300, probably 400 now songs. Don't worry, you're not going to run out of K-pop artists and songs to check out. There's Astro, Day6, Exo, Big Bang, NCT with all of it's subunits, TXT, New Jeans, Le Sserafim, BlackPink, G-Idle, The Rose, Twice, Seventeen, Pentagon....not to mention soloists like Taeyeon, Eric Nam, Baekhyun, Chungha, Kai, Kang Daniel, Taemin....I could go on and on. Big mistake 😂 I watched so many videos from BTS. And the Magic Shop concert. There Tae catched me forever. I watched and listened only BTS. I don't wanted to give other groups a chance for mabe 6 months. Then I tried other groups. I still don't like the girlgroups very much. But boybands 😮, there are so many that I like now. BTS are my favorites and Tae is my king and love forever. But after BTS my second favorites are all NCTs, NCT127, NCT Dream, NCT U, WayV and all the smal subunits. They have (after BTS) the most songs I love. For the first try you should react to NCT127 at "The Killing Voice". There they show many peaces from their songs. That is so good. After them there is a while nothing and then come many more like Shinee and Taemin (member from Shinee and Solo artist), Ateez, MonsterX, EXO, Enhyphen, TXT, and more. The worst, for me, are Dreamcatcher and Everglow. Because it is too much rock, too much E-Guitar.

There are many generations of Kpop. but I think what is clear is that what define the KPOP genre is changing. so as you listen to different groups your may hear some say "oh they were the best for their time" at it may be true because no other artist were doing what they were doing at the time. Yes, the songs on his album are love songs with an air of melancholy. But the subtext here, which you can see in the MVs, particularly in the Slow Dancing MV, but there are hints in all of them, is that he is singing about wanting to build a virtual world where he can run away with BTS and ARMY and just be together. The name of the album is Layover, which means a stop along the way, a pause in a journey, a rest before you continue. He is referring to having to leave BTS and ARMY and go into the military, stepping away from his life for a moment. The virtual world of Layover is a fantasy place to run away to be together in our minds with him, and in his mind with us, while he is in the military. Apparently, we are supposed to run away with him to the Spanish Mediterranean coast in our minds, since he filmed all the MVs there. LOL
Most of the love songs BTS puts out, and many other songs as well, are directed at ARMY. Multiple members have said they always think about ARMY when writing or choosing love songs. All their albums, as a group or solo, are concept albums with a theme or story to tell.
Taehyung here is my bias alongside Suga/AgustD. His voice and unexpected MVs/ideas are always refreshing. His brain just thinks non linearly. I can easily imagine him saying “I’d like to look like a gold disco ball doing old karaoke in a cave”.
I’d suggest diving into Suga AgustD because next week only is his concert in theaters which I can’t recommend enough checking out.
We try not to think negative. But if you like K-pop that every song/album takes you off guard BTS little brothers are TXT the only other group under BigHit (Hybe does have other labels with groups like Seventeen, Enhypen, LeSserafim, New Jeans, &Team, and more all of which are great!).
V definitely have the most unique and original album, he went in completely different direction from kpop and did what needs be done to save music ❤

Because you’re from the US, we think a little bit differently than international music fans. Don’t start a situation of trying to find the worst K-pop group to the best because you will start pitting fandoms against other fandoms. And once those fandoms start defending their favorite groups that you might think is not a good K-pop group that environment becomes very very toxic. BTS does not need to continue to have a toxic fan background or other fandoms coming for them. Just listen to the different groups and experience the vast numbers of amazing songs.

tried to get you to start Old School..lol....anyways.....I just want to GIVE you a reference to HOW SPECIAL V IS. BTS did a series called " American Hustle Life". Quick summary, they were sent to LA to LEARN the ROOTS of Hip-Hop from several Mentors. A couple I have never heard of but a few I DID KNOW. BTS members had several missions and were sometimes divided into teams. At one point, SUGA, J. K. and V had to go to a Studio to meet a Vocal Coach to learn tips. THAT VOCAL COACH was none other than MISS IRIS STEVENSON, who had a hand in " Sister Act 2".
The VERY FIRST time she heard V sing , she flat out told him that he had SOUL and that it made her want to hear MORE. Now THAT could not be MORE of an Honor in MY EYES.
There is SO MUCH you NEED to see and I hope ARMIES are getting you up to speed as well..... But yes.... you really should start from the beginning BEFORE you go any further.

So, I've been watching you since you started your journey and it's really interesting and fun seeing you discover the BTS, right now Mr. Kim Taehyung himself. BTS is very unique in that they have 7 actual artist...there are no backup members in the group. They all play their part yes, but no one is above any other. Each member has their own vibe. I would recommend that you do a members week where you do what you've just done with Taehyung with the other members. They all have an album (with the exception of Jin who will do his once he is out of the military in June) with great music to explore. Some may or may not be your taste.
Tae is def soulful and jazzy, none of the members are quiet like him. In fact non of the members are like each other in terms of their music although their are similarities between them. Now that you've started with BTS, I regret to inform you that you might be disappointed with kpop if you are looking for what you are getting from BTS. BTS is from the kpop industry, but they're not really kpop. They make real music, not just flashy, gimmicky, catchy tune, with great visuals/videos to cover up the bad music/song. They make fun music as well, but even those have real meaning and substance for the most part. That's not to say there aren't kpop group that make some good songs/music, but they are few and far between. Since you started with a vocal line member, I would recommend doing rap line next and then coming back to vocal. How about RM, AgustD, or JHope. JHope just dropped a new album last week "Hope on the street". You might enjoy it.
There's no worst kpop group, just depends on which group you relate or connect with. They're all hardworking and talented 💜

Why start at the bottom when you can start at the top and work your way back, you might find someone else in the group you like better, or even in Kpop, but it all depends on your style, no matter what anyone says, it’s your style no one else’s even though you will most likely get comments disagreeing, I like you to much Big Smooches, Michelle, Barack, Oprah,Will, Tyler the Creator, Ben Franklin, Poyzenne, so just a heads up, those are fighting words when it comes to BTS, while most people in the fandom are great people, we have a few bad apples, so just warning you some comments might not be so nice, being a Kpop fan is like a whole new type of fandom, but won’t go there in public comments as I too would face A lot of not nice comments which I will probably get just for saying this, but think I can be real with you.
Sorry this will be so long, but just like when other reactors have asked before, who’s your favorite Rapper ( asked usually in BTS ) all 3 are my favorite in their Style of Rap, all 7 members bring their own unique talent and voice to the group, for 10 yrs that is who we saw, all 7, but now with solo careers starting, not everyone is going to have the same taste, I love both Tae and JK, they are hopeless romantics with their solo song’s and again, even they have a little different styles, while Tae and JK both like romantic songs ( per them ) Tae has the deep baritone, jazzy style and JK has a more pop style, according to Tae, he thinks that JK has the best voice in Korea, but I can’t chose one over the other.

BTS is a hard act to follow, and they are indeed the pinnacle of the industry and the world. But, don't worry, there are a lot of great artists in KPop and in Korean music in general. You could just check out whoever is big right now in KPop, rising stars and groups, but another way to approach it might be to discover other artists through BTS, through their friendships and their collabs with them, because they have fantastic taste in artists to collab with and music in general and have collabed with many Korean artists, and they have great taste and discernment in friends. I could recommend some collab songs or artists they are friends with, and then you could check out the other artists on their own if you like them.

BTS has so so so mamy songs as a group and earlier solos that it will last you till their comback in 2025. Also, please bear in mind that BTS is bigger than kpop. Althougt there is a lot of talented groups and soloists in kpop, none of them reaches BTS' level. But if you like discovering new artist you will find plenty of fantastic musicians, performers and individuals in kpop. Just don't expect them to be on the same level. It has nothing to do with talent but mostly with the construction of kpop world, where idols have tons of restrictions, and don't have artistic freedom. BTS were different from the beggining, coming from small company nobody ecpected them to behave in that way on another, while those groups debuting under big companies have to follow the rules, therefore they are not always able to show their full potential. Im not Korean, but from what I read before BTS kpop was considered a type of music for teenagers. Only after BTS gained popularity in West, older people started to see them as actual artists. But a lot of new kpop groups still choses to make simpler songs directed towards younger audience. Nevertheless enjoy!

Nothing wrong with starting with the best. BTS will keep you going for ages and there are some other awesome k groups out there. Try “Very Nice” by Seventeen. It’s so much fun. Also, I think you might like the band The Rose. I recommend “Sorry”, their debut and their cover of ILYSB.
Yes well too late pal, you started with BTS, now you'd have difficulty in listening others, I mean you can, but BTS are just the best ! Music, lyrics, universe, messages, personalities, discography, and yeah, visuals lol. But you could have started with others yes and ended with BTS anyway, they're just top notch, and not to mention awesome human beings, very sincere, genuine, actually care for their fans. The worst groups. Never listened to them. Ummm. TRUTH. The worst groups...the girl KPop groups who are just cutsy and sing cutsy songs. Or their dance is only seductive stripper pole moves. No depth. No serious art. No real musical quality.
I, however, love IU. And she did go through her cutsy phase. But now she just puts out quality. She has her own interview show called "Palette". She interviews groups and musicians and singers. Plus she has a Live Band. When V was on her show, she sang "Love Me Again" arranged by her musical director. V sang a solo. Then IU and V sang the most beautiful duet.

I was just thinking of you the other day. Why are you looking for "The Group" when BTS Is The Group? I didn't want to hear that intro any more. Jungkook has solos as well as his top hits (Euphoria and more). Jimin has a voice and style you can't beat, and he has solos, obviously on his album but before. There is an entire playlist of V's songs, including soundtracks, which you won't find on video (mostly). Just search "V playlist" and follow your nose. You've heard some vocal line songs, not all. And the whole group has very sweet songs - Magic Shop, Spring Day. You might like Angel pt 2 with Jimin and Charlie Puth, or Wildflower with RM. So stop thinking you will find it elsewhere. When it comes to 'Kpop' you have to find your own way. I think it will become obvious when you start listening to other groups that the difference is there. BTS have never really fitted into the Kpop sphere, they make some pop and are Korean so they have been lumped into Kpop. And 'the west' also like to categorise and limit them as 'Kpop' to keep them out of major award categories as they blow western artists out of the water! Just note that BTS do not mind being in that category either as they respect and love Kpop/Korean artists and they are great friends with many groups. People try and make Kpop or Boyband into something derogatory but BTS will NOT be categorised. They don't like labels.
Maybe move on to another member when you have finished Tae's solos. Maybe RM, the leader of the group? He has two mixtapes and an official album so plenty to get your teeth into again!💜

I am 60 yrs old and with an exception of 1 or 2 songs, I disliked rap. Now my bias is the rap line. I love them all but would have never thought I would listen to rap let alone go to a concert held by Suga, a rapper. Fly across the Unites States to attend his concert. I've seen his concert live, online, or in theaters over 10 times within 2-3 months).
Why would you want the worst of anything, especially when the best has over 300, probably 400 now songs. Over 700 awards, I think more like 1,000 now. 2 years later I'm still finding songs by BTS I have never heard. I would just enjoy the ride you have barely scratched the surface. Blessings

There's Astro, Day6, Exo, Big Bang, NCT with all of it's subunits, TXT, New Jeans, Le Sserafim, BlackPink, G-Idle, The Rose, Twice, Seventeen, Pentagon....not to mention soloists like Taeyeon, Eric Nam, Baekhyun, Chungha, Kai, Kang Daniel, Taemin....I could go on and on. I watched so many videos from BTS. And the Magic Shop concert. There Tae catched me forever. I watched and listened only BTS. I don't wanted to give other groups a chance for mabe 6 months. Then I tried other groups. I still don't like the girlgroups very much. But boybands 😮, there are so many that I like now. BTS are my favorites and Tae is my king and love forever. But after BTS my second favorites are all NCTs, NCT127, NCT Dream, NCT U, WayV and all the smal subunits. They have (after BTS) the most songs I love. For the first try you should react to NCT127 at "The Killing Voice". There they show many peaces from their songs. That is so good. After them there is a while nothing and then come many more like Shinee and Taemin (member from Shinee and Solo artist), Ateez, MonsterX, EXO, Enhyphen, TXT, and more.
The worst, for me, are Dreamcatcher and Everglow. Because it is too much rock, too much E-Guitar.

There are many generations of Kpop. but I think what is clear is that what define the KPOP genre is changing. so as you listen to different groups your may hear some say "oh they were the best for their time" at it may be true because no other artist were doing what they were doing at the time. I personally think that BTS, Stray Kids, Ateez, XG, and, The Rose Black Pink are a few of the current KPOP groups that are the top of the game right now with BTS leading the pack. but I'd be a hater if I said there were not any other excellent groups and solo artist out there. there are some very "soulful solo artist out there in Kpop land". There is enough room for everybody. My personal vocal kings are EXO happy journey.
