    My transmission started pouring out fluid on the highway out of nowhere. 4t65e-hd that was already rebuilt twice. I decided to just replace it with a reman. To many factory issues with this transmission. Chevy Impala SS 2006

    I have a 2002 regal LS, vin K, it started having trouble shifting into 2nd when at oper temp but other shifts were normal 2-3,3-4 no slippage anywhere So I changed the 1-2 and 3-4 shift solenoid, filter and fluid . NO change . Now it wont shift into 2nd it will hang between 1st and 2nd if I go fast enough in 1st or go into 2nd for an instance but goes back to 1st or hangs between 1st and 2nd almost instantly any ideas?

    • @thisisyourtransmission
      @thisisyourtransmission  Год назад

      No. However, if the differential is broken more often than not, the whole transmission will have to come out and other things will have to be replaced!

      @@thisisyourtransmission thanks . I thought I caught it before any damage was done. Symptom was that it would go forward ok, but locked up in reverse and wouldn’t move. Since I didn’t force it (this happened in my driveway), I figured I might get away with just the differential.
      Turns out the damn caliper bolt came off, such that when I put the car in reverse, the caliper jammed against the rim , making it seem like the transmission locked up. Can’t believe how I almost misdiagnosed that one.

    on 4T65E i have the inner cv Joint is moving up an down, took the housing off, diff is able to move up an down, is that normal or what is worn, passenger side

    • @thisisyourtransmission

      Why did you bother the cv joint?

    • @adrainbranch4381
      @adrainbranch4381 5 лет назад

      i notice inner cv joint has a lot of movement from the passenger side going the transmission ,the car has a bad vibration just driving an worsen braking, took the housing off thinking bushing was bad, but realize the the differential has that movement without being in the housing,trying to figure what might be worn in the transmission

    • @thechosenone3504
      @thechosenone3504 5 лет назад

      Adrain Branch up and down movement is normal on all transmissions. Are you sure your vibration isnt caused by a bad cv shaft joint or perhaps a more common out of balance wheel/tire assembly? Depending on the speeds you notice the vibration you might have a bent rim or a tire with a shifted belt

    What do u think of the transgo shift kits for the 4t65e in my 03 lesabre? I have only 104,000 babied rounds on her and just starting to slip and hard shift once car gets hot. Did a trans service a few months ago when syptoms started. Filter was packed with crap and fluid was black. After service car was fixed. Now having issues again. I've studied about the transgo shift kits and most people say that fixed problems. I will be installing the shift kit in a week but thought I'd try some lucas stop leak and slip additive in the white bottle in the meantime. Your advice please. Thanks!

    On the 4T65E HD, what do you think of the TripleEdge rebuilds or kits? Can you have a shop put better parts in to make the transmission more reliable? I have a Grand Prix GXP that's why I'm asking.

    • @thisisyourtransmission
      @thisisyourtransmission  5 лет назад

      Ok, first, there are many shops and companies that rebuild transmission. They can call themselves many fancy names to get buyers attention. I can make one up like "Diamond Tough Transmissions". Do you understand? I don't know anything about TripleEdge. However, I do know that if one rebuild this transmission with parts that address the issues that it has after 100,000 miles or more, the transmission will do just fine. Second, this transmission does not have many issues that will need better parts to make it more reliable. It is a pretty reliable transmission. The shop that you take it to just have to know what needs to be changed and updated to keep it on the road a few more years.

      @@thisisyourtransmission The 4T65E-HD is way underrated to handle the 5.3. They are rated to 280lbs of torque. The 5.3 produces 325ftlbs. Hence why they turn to shrapnel. The cross over pipe sits across the top of the transmission heating it up extensively. A trans cooler and thermal wrapping of the cross pipe are recommended.
