Day 1- Camino de San Salvador | First Stage from Leon with the Portuguese Pack to Forested Hills

- Early morning leaving the Leon Albergue. Quick stop at the Leon Cathedral and San Marcos to start on the Camino de San Salvador! It takes a long time to walk outside of Leon. After a quick beer I get back on trail and start to climb up into the green. A rowdy crew of nine Portuguese pilgrims keep the same pace. I enjoy some village bars and hike the end of the stage solo. I arrive in La Robla in Halloween and love the kiddies in their cute costumes. My scare comes later... bedbugs! I was under attack and retreat to sleeping on the floor of the Albergue kitchen.
Lots of variety on this day - from the pilgrim hand to the power plant
It was an interesting day!

Another Camino! There are so many of these Camino. I'm glad you can tell the difference between them all, I'd be hiking the same one without knowing it. Getting to see the smaller cities is really nice, they've got lots of interesting history.
I think I’m going to end up visiting every single city in Spain 🤣

Did you squish , squash , smash or stomp on the little mother ----- or leave it for someone else . Look more like an American roach , not the kind I smoke , than bed bugs .
