Thanks for showing off the kit and your build of it....both look great! Getting back into modeling after 15 years or so, but going for zombie/apocalypse type dioramas. This truck will look great in one of them either as a current military vehicle or been sold as military surplus. Continually surprised by not only the number of military kit vehicles available today, but the quality & detail in them.
Old, bald fat man Yes, Russian vehicles are ugly enough to be post-apocalyptic without any scratch building. If you just returned to hobby, think twice before buying an ICM kit because they are "over-engineered" and sometimes frustrating. I've built a few and none went trouble-free. On the bright side, the detail is superb and if you intend on making gutted out mechanical monsters, ICM kits are perfectly suited for. Welcome back to modeling!
Hey The Inner Nerd, Good day to you. This ICM 1/35 Scale KamAz 4310 Soviet "Six Wheel Army Truck" looks so real! It's like you just drove it off an old dirt road. Super Excellent Job! Nice layering effects on the trucks weathering and especially the windshield!! I watched this twice :P I'm going to get off my duff an unpack boxes that have some of my older models and start building again. :) Well, not today but soon. haha Thank you for sharing your time, tips, skills, talents, great instructions, and Awesome build videos. Peace & Joy ... Shared and back to more videos :P Salute! :)
Screw world peace, I want some pizza I already have a Halftrack ruclips.net/video/b4MUlNg0AV8/видео.html A Tiger also m.ruclips.net/video/ol4wPVVDo2U/видео.html
Mr Nerd, I just love this truck. Russian trucks have a special appeal for me. Congrats on the dirty finish, superb. I'm just back from a model shop, a Tiger 1 sitting on the table now. You are inspirational. Ta.
Dammit....another one that I have to get....already have a couple of KraZ, GAZ Ural....love these BIG Russian trucks! One day....I'll own a KraZ 214 or 255....what traffic jam? 😉😄😂 Great video and fantastic work! 👍👌👏
Duececoupe Agree with you about Russian trucks. I am going to have to get this and the Ural. Worked with them in the Artic circle in Russia, hard as nails trucks. I like what seems to be the Russian engineering philosophy, it doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to work. Their military jets seem to be both.
Haha I know the feeling! I have 3 aircraft in the stash right now and try to keep it around that level so I don't over face myself. Difficult not to buy everything in sight when I go into a model shop!!
Hello from Canada. Very well done. The weathering is superb. BTW, have you ever used Molotow Chrome pens...the chrome effect is amazing. I used them for doing the chrome bezels behind clear lights, as well as mirrors, etc.
cdpgbc 1966 Hello and welcome to my channel. Thank you Ive never done a truck before so it was something new to experiment with! I haven't no but they sound good as painting light backings is a bit of a faf through an airbrush. Thank you!
Fantastic quality work. I have this model now. Yet to build. Can you r anyone explain the 2 paint options with different decals please? What units or locations, as I doesn't explain in the chart
Thank you. Yeah sorry about that. This was before I got some suitable studio lights to light up the workspace. In my later videos you'll see what I'm doing much better 😉 thanks for the feedback and for watching
I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you recover well. I also hope that my videos can help you along with your modelling and if you have any questions just let me know. Thanks for watching.
many Soviet cars were copied from foreign models, including American ones but not KAMAZ, KAMAZ was made on the basis of the ZIL prototype in the 70s, much earlier than LMTV
I use Ammo’s Pigment Fixer. You can mix this with the pigment prior to application to make a thick mud in which you can apply. Or apply as a dust and then spot on the fixer to get a more dusty outcome. All depends on what effect you’re trying to replicate with which way you apply. Hope this helps!
Thanks for sharing. I like your videos. Rear of the truck should be dirtiest part. Mud flaps, registration number, tail lights. Rear of cabin is too clean.
another great build, excellent weathering. good work on the windscreen 👍
Good build and a lovely finish.

You build quite a variety of stuff. I struggle to stop myself buying more kits than I could build... and I only do 1/48 aircraft.
Haha I know the feeling! I have 3 aircraft in the stash right now and try to keep it around that level so I don't over face myself. Difficult not to buy everything in sight when I go into a model shop!!

excelente felicitaciones
Thank you and thanks for watching :)

Wonderful work! What'll the next build be?
Chin Chin The Dark Lord Thank you. Keeping it 🤐 at the moment, have to wait and see...
Alright, have fun building!
End result looks awesome, but the build video was too dark. Made it difficult to see the progression of the various weathering steps.
Thank you. Yeah sorry about that. This was before I got some suitable studio lights to light up the workspace. In my later videos you'll see what I'm doing much better 😉 thanks for the feedback and for watching
I've recently had a serious accident at work and been made wheel chair bound for the the forrseable future I would like to be my mentor for the future
I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you recover well. I also hope that my videos can help you along with your modelling and if you have any questions just let me know. Thanks for watching.
What product do you prefer to thin out your oils? I tried Tamiya thinner and it didn't work (probably because its for acrylics!). Thanks
Jim
Nevermind, White Spirit. Got it. haha
So what are you doing with those oil paints?
Reilly Davies The raw oil paints are used for streaking as though water/mud/oils have dripped down the cab/flatbed
crazy how similar this looks to the american built LMTV, its almost like an exact carbon copy lol
many Soviet cars were copied from foreign models, including American ones but not KAMAZ, KAMAZ was made on the basis of the ZIL prototype in the 70s, much earlier than LMTV
Bad Ass!!!
Everything is fine, but there is no showing how to apply dust to the cabin
My dust never stays as realistic after sealing with a clear coat...
Pugnator you can try pigment fixer instead. Apply the pigments after the final clear coat
How did you “fix” the dry pigments?
I use Ammo’s Pigment Fixer. You can mix this with the pigment prior to application to make a thick mud in which you can apply. Or apply as a dust and then spot on the fixer to get a more dusty outcome. All depends on what effect you’re trying to replicate with which way you apply. Hope this helps!
dude i have an idea for a différent project try to make the gillows se5a or the fokker dr1 its all made of wood and paper like a real one ;)
DoNotEvenTry
Different doesn't need an accent
Chin Chin The Dark Lord i know my phone keyboard is in french and the autocorrector put it like that
+DoNotEvenTry
K
XF-67 NATO Green
Nice build of the workhorse of Russian Army!
i see wrong tread direction on some wheels
Thank you and thanks for watching :)
👍
Thank you and thanks for watching :)
Thanks for sharing. I like your videos. Rear of the truck should be dirtiest part. Mud flaps, registration number, tail lights. Rear of cabin is too clean.
It's missing letters on the licence plate. Great job otherwise!
Dimedrol Sergeevich
The Inner Nerd
perfect for me to turn this into war rig from madmax
anyway awesome build
Thank you and thanks for watching :)
Nice model. Poor lighting, the light should shine on what your doing, please and thank you.
Thank you, luckily my videography has massively improved since this video. Go check out my latest stuff ;)
Looks like 8 to me? at 00:35 you can see 4 cylinder heads on each side.
"nato green".. russian truck.. lol
KAPTOLLIKA b Haha yes I see your point but it was the closest shade to the green needed for the markings 😆
