For general muting, I use function 8. To prevent the locos from starting up when track power is first enabled you'll need to adjust CV 114. CV 114 has a number of variations but I program with just the number 5. This gives me auto notching at speed step 5 with "Enable Auto Start" disabled. Check out the "Econami Diesel User Guide" which has a much better in depth set of instructions that what comes with the box.
Eh, I haven't had too many issues with them to be honest (even on my switching layout). But, I have started switching out most of my couplers with Kadee Couplers now that I've got delayed magnets installed on the track..
I got my first Athearn RTR with sound ever. I love it! It sounds really good.
I like it better than Broadway Limited.
Nice! I might be getting one for christmas!
Good luck. These are sold out almost everywhere
@@GP9railfan Yep there was 3 left. 1 normal nose and 2 long nose. I got the very last normal nose. Im excited! Great review btw!
It has the same sound decoder as my ATSF FP45 which is a Genisis Line model, nice touch!👍
The latest Genesis units released 2018+ have the Tsunami 2 decoders installed. The RTR’s like this have the Econami’s in them.
These are great units for the price. I have 3 of them. Great engines with the right CV settings, especially having functioning brakes.
Nice great review!
Good review.
What CVs did you set so the sound is muted when track power’s enabled. Mine is set to default so the engine starts with track power

11:47 Kadee couplers are superior to EZ mate. Those plastic couplers are literal shit just like the stock mchenry ones
