The iPhone always shoots widescreen, at least 16x9. (If you have a 4s or older be sure to double-tap the screen for it to show you the full frame, otherwise it's crops the view. But it's always recording the full 16x9 regardless.) As far as clear I don't know, make sure it's in focus? :)
Heck no! We use absolutely no computer effects whatsoever in these, that's part of the challenge. To see how we can recreate everything entirely in camera with no CG! :)
