- Election 2024 Results: ओडिशा की बाराबती-कटक सीट से कांग्रेस विधायक सोफिया फिरदौस ने इतिहास की किताबों में अपना नाम दर्ज करा लिया है। वह ओडिशा विधानसभा के लिए चुनी जाने वाली पहली मुस्लिम महिला विधायक हैं। सुश्री फिरदौस ने भाजपा(BJP) के पूर्ण चंद्र महापात्रा को 8,001 मतों के अंतर से हराया।

Yes but Muslims have very little representation in today's politics. If adivasis and Dalits can be represented, Odisha's (and India's) Muslims should also be represented. This is not a communal issue, it is an issue of basic representation. BJP entire cabinet has not a single Muslim, even though they have Dalits, OBCs, adivasis, Sikhs, Christians and every other community. This is discrimination against 20% of India's population, who now have less than 1% political representation due to a climate of hatred and exclusion.
