Good video......just to add something that works for me; we have a dehydrator and we make a lot of beef and venison jerky. We add only salt and pepper, we're not trying to make something exotic. I can take a baggie full of jerky and live on it for 3 or 4 days on a backpacking trip. Light weight and no cooking required. I've been keto/carnivore for over 5 years now so my system is fine with that. Like I said, it's just what works for me and I'm simply sharing with the group. Lots of protein and easy to store and carry in a pack.

Yes. I could have mentioned that. I will bring jerky during hunting season. Since I hunt out my back door, I typically drop almost all of my cooking gear so jerky is my best option.

Never heard of the lighter duct tape trick before. I thought maybe it was to prevent a puncture but it's more of just so you have some duct tape on you. Neat. What camera and lens are you using by the way? It has a really nice bokeh on the edges

@@SamCyanide I'm using a Sony ZV-e10 with the kit lens for nice weather and any indoor stuff I might do. Once the weather turns bad I'll move over to my GoPro for it's water resistance.

I saw a bass pro magazine ad about a decade ago for a straw that somehow magically filters any body of water (inside the straw) making it drinkable. Never seen a mention of it since but man if it were true….

It's called a life straw. It works very well. They are a good price too

@@IronSharpensIron127 preciate it and yea my ignorance. It’s like charcoal, sand and maybe salt that filters it. It might not taste right but it’ll keep you up to speed if you don’t want to stop to boil water.
