CC feeling confident in her backup is 100% the most important part of protecting her health and making her willing to leave the floor in tight games. You could see all last season that she absolutely did not want to leave the floor even when she was spent.

I don't think Cc told the Fever to cut Grace. I think that had to be done and it was done by Krauskopf and Cox. Kelly, Amber and Stephanie said early on they wanted vets with championship experience that fit their culture. In the 4th quarter of a big game, I would rather have Colson than Berger. Wheeler has way more skills than Colson Colson only scores two points no rebounds no assists. Basically wasted space other than she’s a good teammate and funny.
Wheeler is a free agent with no contract and almost certainly will get signed by someone, if she gets signed at all, at the veteran's minimum, as with Coulson. Either the Fever didn't want Erica back for some reason, or they think Coulson has more to offer.
Colson is a different style player than Wheeler. Erica is a dribbler who likes to run half court offense and is a liability on defense.
Sydney is a defensively-minded player who is versatile with her offensive style. That’s all not to mention the difference in championship experience: Sydney has two WNBA chips and also an NCAA chip (with Texas A&M, of all teams)!

Sydney Colson could sub for both Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell. It's a perfect fit. And that will give her more minutes and Caitlin can get some rest time because Caitlin sometimes had to play full 40mins and in one game she played full 45mins coz of OT. If Caitlin went to the bench the scoring stopped and it was a problem.

I doubt CC had as much to do with players being moved around as some think. Theres enough practice and game tape on the players to see who actually played well, practiced hard and worked on their position play on their own, as well as to see who just showed up for practices and did the bare minimum to get by don’t you think?
Mick, you have pointed out that no true centers are available for the Fever, true centers are few and far between in the WNBA. The fever have to look for free agents, most likely overseas, it may take awhile but it should remain the main goal for the Fever.

its real simple Wheeler thinks she's somebody and she's not. She's a bench player simple as that. Colson knows her role she knows she's 5-10min max a game. Clark wants to play 30-35 min a game she just needs the breather player to come in then go back to the bench.

The team wanted veterans and needed one affordsble for the 5-8 minutes a back up to Clark will get. @Nancy-uj8dq I believe Syd reached out to Kate and to her good friend Kelsey Mitchell and inquired about Clark as well. Apparently Clark had respect for Syd and could trust her as her back up rather than Grace.

I think it's possible that the best alternative for Grace is what is happening now with the Lynx. How much playing time would she have gotten this year with the Fever? No one knows that better than CC.
