      lol, it will take 30yrs for SC to turn into Florida! There’s 480,000 people moving to florida every year, SC is nowhere near that number and doesn’t have the diversity florida has. There really isn’t much to do in SC but retire , relax , go out to dinner.

    Agree, invest to create “multiple income streams”. Invest in real stuff that generates income every month.
    Take a part time job to further supplement income streams to make new friends and learn your community.
    T bills
    Rentals ( avoid HOA rentals)
    Sound mutual funds with track record

    Why people easily tell others who are about retiring to just move to another state. What a careless advise!

  • @jaykoolis961
    @jaykoolis961 5 месяцев назад +1

    Those cheap areas are cheap for a reason and aren’t as cheap as you think. People I know that moved to cheaper areas found they had to pay for services; to visit family and friends; and most importantly finding quality medical care.
    Moving far from family and friends puts an undue burden on them when you need help. They have to drop everything to travel far to you. Think carefully about the future. You may be healthy now but you won’t always be. What happens then?

      See, you have the right idea here. Family should help.
      But when it comes to poor people, you think the government should be the responsible party.
      Why the disconnect?
      Where is the difference?
      You do know that charities and churches used to be the ones to help the poor, right?
      These were LOCAL groups that helped the people in their LOCAL community.
      The people in the community had a direct influence on how these charities and churches operated.
      But now it falls to the government. The government will tell you that they need more money, more taxes to take care of people that live in areas that you never see, parts of the city or state that you intentionally avoid.
      Does that sound like a good system to you?

    • @jaykoolis961
      @jaykoolis961 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@josephjones5070 Not everyone has family that they can rely on. And if we only relied on charities to provide assistance they’d be completely overwhelmed. As I said if America wants to remain a truly great country, it must take care of its poor. No one should go to bed hungry or homeless, especially children who are the innocent victims of poverty. It’s sad you think otherwise.

    Great video. $10,000 property tax in NJ is a bargain. I pay double that, and that's considered "reasonable" in my town. Very close to retirement and moving to the NJ shore next month (have to stay in the state for family, but I also love it) - unfortunately still very high property taxes but at least I've sold the long-term house for way more than expected.

    Great tips. I'm in a different situation I'm 48 and retired for 2 years. I own 2 rental properties, no mortgage, no debt. I clear 14k a month not including gains on interest. (120K Pension) My wife clears 6k a month. I bank 4-6k a month. My wife banks 4k a month. We have a net worth of 5 million. It's sounds great but INFLATIOn is a bitch! When I retired before Bidenflation, I figured by the time my pension takes a hit, social security will kick in at 62. Ny rent income in NYC always outpaces inflation. BUT these last 2 years have been brutal. My wife thinks I'm nuts, but I am worried about maintaining our lifestyle. I'm even considering working part time to build up my Social Security. My wife thinks I should just relax and enjoy. I need some guidance. I'll definitely feel better of Trump gets in.
