Kony's Son Explains Why He Defected from His Father's LRA Campaign

In this first part of a two-part series, I bring to you an exclusive interview with Ali Saloongo Kony, the son of the Lord’s Resistance Army Rebel Commander Joseph Kony.
He explains in depth why he parted ways with his elusive father after nearly two decades of serving in the LRA. Ali defected from the LRA in 2021 at the rank of Brigadier, one of the highest ranks in the LRA.
He is currently in Gulu City and has met with Uganda President Yoweri Museveni whom his father launched a bloody rebellion against to overthrow his government in 1986.
