Mine too. I've flown there a lot of the years, but can you believe it's been like 5 years since I got the river visual that gets you those great views of D.C.... Every time I've flown there in the last few years I've specially sat on that side to hopefully get that approach. Or departure for that matter. And every time, they switch flow right before I get there. EVERY TIME haha. I was literally on the plane, getting ready to push back. And they were using the correct runway and flow. And bam, right as we pushed back. The 5 planes lined up all did an about face and headed the other way haha. Just my luck.
Fun flight to watch! Love east coast videos, thanks again for sharing! Sporty landing too, you could tell he hit the brakes pretty good to make that exit :D
I cannot believe it because I am in Washington DC and yesterday, I got to go to Mount Vernon and then to do planespotting at DCA and I was thinking of you the whole time I was there seeing all the planes that I could and even saw the Alaska Airlines Pixar Pier livery there land and this upload is just great watching from Washington DC today!
Great video, I always love flying into DCA. I have a nice photo of the National Mall I was able to get while flying in years ago on the River Visual approach. I wish I was able to get down there more often to hang out and planespot at Gravelly Point Park.
I've lived in Northern Virginia for the last 18 years, so DCA has been my primary airport. I agree, fun place to fly in and out of. Very accessible and good scenery.
Southwest is my favorite single class airline. I love Southwest, but I try to classify things. Because it’s not really fair to compare Delta, United, and American to Southwest.
Yes, but they're all old. Despite my best efforts, I have been thwarted from getting that approach, or departure for years now. ruclips.net/video/YW4KdudGXus/видео.htmlsi=ORwdP83wPt9Aw5Rm I mean, we're talking I still had a different intro and outro it's so old haha.
Wow... good views taking off. I admit that I forgot that DCA was on the Virginia side of the Potomac. That's a tough airport to get into, sort of like LGA, very tricky. I have the utmost respect for pilots who are able to get into those 2 airports. The hardest airport to get into is PBH, Paro, Bhutan. Only one airline goes there (Druk Air) and only pilots who've been specifically trained to deal with this airport get to do this. Well, guess what. We have wildfire smoke over us. The AQI has gone up into the USG Range and it smells very smokey outside. Back in Sept. 2020, the smoke was so bad that the AQI was in the Very Unhealthy Range and the sun was barely able to peek through. My GF and I didn't go outside at all that day. Well, anyhow, I feel jet lagged from watching this video. I think I'll watch one of the Lifetime thriller movies while I rest up.

Thanks my friend. No, I do not wear sunscreen when I’m traveling. Of course, most of my traveling is done for the channel and I rarely leave the airports except to sleep. Of course, if I am traveling for something other than the channel, and I am going to be outside all day. Like at the beach. Yes, I wear sunscreen. But not for my typical flying days.
Yooo nice vid as always also since you fly a lot do you have a lot of jet lag? When I fly usually internationally I always have a problem with it I was jus wondering how u deal with it.
Yes. How I deal with it, is probably not a way that most people would be able to deal with it. Most of the time, I’m flying specifically for the channel. I end up flying as much as I can every single day. So by the time I get to wherever I’m going that day, I am exhausted. So it doesn’t really matter, because I pretty much just pass out as soon as I get to a hotel anyway. I also try to fly more on days that I’m flying west. Not only are you gaining time, but it’s easier for your body to adjust when you’re gaining time. Jetlag is a lot harder to deal with when you’re flying east and losing time. But again, my flying habits are much different than what most people need.
@@sla31 ohhh yea that makes sense cuz you fly so much and you hold your phone up to the window each time so like dang you must be tired 😅. And yea I noticed that jet lag thing always happens when I go East and usually doesn’t when I go west
Thanks for much for pointing that out! I'm from Germany, living in Canada and just looked it up, she flew as D-AHXC with Air Berlin, and even found a picture of her at my home town in Hannover EDDV/HAJ! Very neat. Such a random coincidence that this South West plane once flew domestic flights in Germany
