When some people doubted that they would go for 14 straight I kept telling people not to give up. It is amazing to see the response after back to back loses at home. For everyone that doubted them Graham said it best. We proved you wrong. Rock Chalk!

One thing that I think was remarkable about this game is how many shots KU made inside of 5 seconds on the shot clock. It seemed that every time it got under 5 it would go in. Perfectly run offense.

The school, the history, the tradition, the bluest of the blue blood programs, the Cradle of College Basketball... Under one coach, in the one-and-done era where team line ups change in the blink of an eye... And then this team, taking the 14th, short handed and struggling at times, comes from behind to take it... @ESPN, you need to get your 30 for 30 crew on this story ASAP !!!

And think of some of the opposing players, coaches and teams that they had to go through to get it too. Lamarcus Aldrige, Michael Beasley, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Marcus Smart, Georges Niang, Monte Morris, Buddy Hield, Trae Young, Scott Drew, Lon Kruger, Bob Huggins, Fred Hoiberg and Rick Barns etc. and I know that I'm missing a few here. And the sad part is you hardly hear anyone talking about it. You ask any coach, player or analyst other than winning a national title what is the hardest championship to win? I promise you their answer would be, to win your conference title. This was one of those records that if you had asked anyone who was associated with college basketball 10 years ago if they ever thought any one team or coach would be able to surpass 13 straight regular season conference titles in a major power conference they would have said no. Unfortunately I think the only way 30 for 30 would do a story on this is if in a few years (heaven forbid) the titles get stripped away for some reason. No drama in a story about a team or coach just being really good for extended period of time.

I feel bad for other area school's fans...they type something like 'NIU, Bucknell, Bradley, VCU'...and think that they have unveiled some illusion of success.
      No.
I was at KU around the birth of the streak, through partying on Mass St after Mario's Miracle. All I know, is I have LOVED Self's ability to win the Big 12 and put a team that is capable of cutting down the nets in the NCAA tourney.
I'll take those early exits for what we've accomplished any day. This has been a FUN 14 years. RCJH!!!

Watch the 30 for 30 happen now if the NCAA decides to come down hard on KU with their accusations. There has been talk that they may try to take away the wins that De Sousa was involved in from that year and thus KU would have to vacate the 14th title and Final Four run. The NCAA shouldn't be able to do that though, because they cleared De Sousa to play that year when he petitioned to be reclassified to play that year. And the fact that KU played him that year I think proves (or at least helps the argument) that they didn't know he was ineligible to play. They had a very good team with or without De Sousa that year, so why risk screwing up the season by playing someone who by NCAA rules may invalidate that season. By the time he came in to play everyone knew the FBI was investigating Adidas. They knew there was going to be a trial that summer, so why risk playing a player if they knew payments were made to his guardian and that information could be found out during that investigation? And that's another thing the FBI has subpoena power, witness testimony, had wire taps, got text messages and even setup stings to try to catch as many people involved as they could (including coaches Oklahoma State). After all the evidence they gathered, they charged the people that they could and gave the case to prosecutors. After looking at all the evidence the Federal Prosecutors charged the defendants with defrauding KU and other schools, because the FBI didn't find anything in their investigation to suggest that the schools including KU and the coaches knew anything about or approved payments to players or their families. And the defendants were all found guilty. And one last thing, since the coaches were never informed of the payments that should prove that the former Adidas reps aren't boosters for the school.

Definitely wasn't easy, but Ku got it! Devonte Graham and Myliauk were amazing in this game. This was a team win today.

Yes I agree it has been a team win all year outside of that OU game which makes it great to see they are united as one. But in this game at the end it was the Graham show he took over and showed how true of a leader he is.

Really did. That shot he somehow managed to muster up with enough strength was amazing!

Great video! What a tremendous win it was for the Hawks against a very good Texas Tech squad. I think that Chris Beard is a great hire for them and they will be very good as long as he is their coach. But as we all know, the road to the Big 12 title goes through Lawrence. Rock Chalk!

Cool video.. But by the title I was expecting a recap of all 14 seasons, not just the one game that clinched 14 straight... Maybe an idea for when we win the 15th this season??? 😉
