As a proud owner of this beautiful creation, I can confirm this is one of the best I ve ever owned and the sound is just something else. It has an earthy sound thaty i cant produce in any other instrument that I have.
Your dynamic range test is literally what I wish EVERY other reviewer would do. Please never stop that, its so so helpful for people that can't get their hands on the guitar at a local shop
My local guitar has one of these 000-15 SM 12 fret. It’s a great guitar. I keep going back to it to play it. I have the 000-15 M and a Gibson J45 as well.
@@mikemccabe8198 I’ve been playing a Gibson j45 for 17 years. Every acoustic gig, jam, rehearsal, not to mention countless hours playing it at home. I also have a Martin 000-15 for about 8 years. My son plays it all the time. They are totally different. Spruce top vs all mahogany; different size necks; 000. 15 is smaller. J45 is a full size guitar. You gotta play it and decide.
Really great video! I love mine. I just put Martin retro strings on and it added a bit of brilliance and brought it over into dreadnought territory, but I do agree that it’s not as loud. I happen to like that. I bought mine for recording because I wanted a guitar with a little less low end. This was the perfect choice. Still carries the lows, but without a boom. One last thing…. In the last 7 or 8 months of ownership, this guitar has opened up. The tone just keeps getting better and better. I have a few good sounding videos of mine hard at work if you care to watch. What a gem! Thanks for the video!!
Joe I am considering another 12 Fret Guitar. either the Martin 000-15SM or Taylor 312. I have a 25th anniversary Grand AuditoriumTaylor in pristine condition that I would like to either sell or trade. I had a bad fall off a scaffold in '14 and my shoulders do not like the deeper bodied guitars. They are both amazing guitars. But I have never got my hands on a Taylor that does not play well with low action. The Martin's on the other hand I have. Thank you Joe !!
Hi Tex, I live in Deep South Mexico, I found one available so I paid $375 in shipping from Fla. then I had to pay $465 import tax. No Bueno! However if you can find and get one get it! Finally $1695 is what it cost me. It’s worth $4G’s to me! I’ll keep mine 4ever. It will make you sell the AD22E! The Mahogany really good quality, the rosewood fingerboard so nice. Hope you can get your hands on ☝🏻
I love the sound of this guitar but I am intimidated by the headstock when it comes time for new strings. Can anyone recommend a good instruction video for this procedure?
I have one and love it! Been wondering though … the standard series 000’s such as the 000-18 or 000-28 offers the traditional dovetail among other specs (sitka, RW, gloss, etc…). Have you ever heard of non dovetails being long-term longevity problems?
Collings, Taylors use some form of bolt on necks… perhaps we over think it too much 🤷🏻♂️ I have an OMJM which has a mortise & tenon joint.. 10 years in it sounds amazing & plays perfectly.. zero issues
@@zachtbh Yeah, my balance is a D-18 and the 000-15SM, but I just wonder if I should upgrade to a standard series 000 someday. No matter how you slice it, I’m grateful to even have these guitars either way. Thanks!
@@LFF_8w3 if you have the means to get a 000 upgrade, I think it worth it. I'm still saving to own my first martin someday. I'm targeting the 000-15sm.. 😁
I wanted this but told that it will take 4 mos…😢so I picked Guild D20…I still get 0028 o4 00018😅…got4 Martins including koa ukulele a backpacker a dreadnaught…😊y 3 guilds 🇺🇸 made
No doubt, "one of the coolest guitars available under $2,000." However, now that I have owned one for about 4 months, IMHO this is one of the coolest guitars available at any price range! If you think you can only be happy with a ~$17,000 Kevin Ryan, you "need" to play this guitar.
I paid $729 in 2020 for a Gretche Rancher falcon Jumbo electric/Acoustic with Fishman electronics and it sounds just as good even better than that Martin and Taylor trust me one that one
Just bought this, by far my favourite acoustic I’ve ever played 👌🏼
Me too.. bought mine about the same time.
Why don’t they make it with a pick up?
damn I just played one at GC and shocked how much I loved it. More than many other guitars I played. I never thought I'd like all mahgany

I own this Martin and am considering purchasing a J45. How would you compare the Martin to your J45?

Awesome info. So helpful when trying to buy a guitar online. 👍
You got a lefty 000-15sm?
Got a Taylor AD22E mahogany top. Couldn't find one of these. This is a great sounding guitar, nice balance. Thanks Joe
Thanks, Howard!!

What is the fretboard made of? Is that rosewood?
Is it true the neck truss rod is NOT adjustable?

Put on headphones
It's amazes me when guys tell you a 790 guitar is equal or better than a 2000. That never happens in real life
@@rodolphep0nthus555 It's just confirmation bias.
