Back then I found myself in '82 ... my summer soundtrack on the radio, while hitchhiking and camping on a holiday in Italy. A motorcycle with sidecar! gave us a lift for a couple of days. Still remember this crystal clear like a paramount picture. Asia found themselves in the charts back in '82. Bless you John Wetton!
What a different context than the original. My wife and I divorced after years of marriage. These words speak to me it feels like it was written for me...
Saw Asia in Pittsburgh in '82. 42 years ago. Remember so much about that great concert. Carl Palmer's drum solo. Geoff Downe's keyboard layout. Fan always.
Wow. Brings a tear to my eye. I was fortunate to see Asia in concert in Stockton, California in May 1982. 'Tis a show I'll never forget. John Wetton, rest in peace.
It’s amazing what some of these artists can do when they strip away the power chords and high powered production to come up with a stripped down version of a song. Absolutely brilliant.
incredible version, i have to say, this is much better than original. It's more deeper, you feel a lot of space between verses and of cource the melanchololy mood Love the dialogue between Wetton voice and three acoustic guitars. I have the same feeling about "Big love" by Fleetwood Mac, 1997 version live, played solo by Lindsey Buckingham
MAGNIFIQUE !!!! ... même si je reste.... et resterai à jamais... fidèle à l'Amour indéfectible... l'Amour indestructible... que j'accorde désormais au groupe Marillion... et à Hogarth !!! mm
What an incredible arrangement. John's voice has an ethereal quality. RIP JOHN.

I strongly agree Rob!
The first time I heard this version
I was driving to work and had to pull over to absorb it. Complete 180 from the original
that was beautiful ... we miss you, John.
John Wetton’s voice is sacred.
Hits me right in the 80s. I'm in tears. RIP John Wetton, and thank you.
🖤
I like the voice of John Wetton. I remember him in my favourite groups Uriah Heep and King Crimson.
From Russia with love. Michael.

THANK YOU STEVE HACKETT.. MISS YOU JOHN
I always regarded Wetton and Lake as interchangeable and at least one of them was once I think. It’s sad that they are both gone now.
How true and they were both superb bass guitar players.

Best version of a great song
Better than the original. As with many John Wetton songs (Battlelines is another), strip them back and they go up to another level. RIP JW. Genius.
Beautiful rendition of this song. Completely changes the feel. Love it.
This acoustic version is so brilliant! Love it! RIP John Wetton!

As much of a contrivance as Asia was, gotta admit
the songs were great largely due to Whetton.
