My stepdad knew a lot of people involved in Philippine politics, and he said that based on what he's heard and if you really think about it, President Marcos did not and would not order the assassination of Mr. Aquino because for someone as intelligent as President Marcos was, he knew that he would automatically be blamed for it if he ordered it. Another thing he told me was not to believe everything I see or hear in the news because media can easily be manipulated. He said most of the truth is actually hidden behind the news. And being a dad myself now, I tell my kid the same thing.
Also Ninoy was already dying at that time... Why would he want to kill him? I really dont believe Marcos ordered the execution of Ninoy. If he really wanted him dead, he could have just waited.

President Marcos would never order that, although I was young at the time and now quite old. I realize that a wise President will not take any step that will harm his reputation assassinating a person is a form of cowardiness. Marcos is a soldier and a great leader and not that stupid.

Both the Agrava and Herrera Commission established a very important fact. That AVSECOM Col. Prospero Olivas was the highest ranking official who could have authorized or ordered the assassinations. As to who was behind Olivas is no longer established by evidence but by opinion or conclusion. The only possible people who can order Olivas was President Marcos, General Ver acting for Imelda or the illusive Defense Minister Juan Ponce Enrile.
Danding Cojuanco may have the money but he doesn't have the reputation or the authority or the motive to kill Aquino. Danding faction is quarreling with the Peping faction of the Cojuanco business empire where Cory belong. So Danding would not have any benefit in bringing down Marcos by killing Aquino or by any other means. In fact Danding's business prospered because of his alliance with Marcos. His UCPB bank was utilized for government Cocofed and Coco levy fund operations. So why would Danding want to bring down Marcos.
On the other hand Enrile who was a co author of martial law and supposedly the next in rank to Marcos under the power system he helped design where the Vice President and Prime Minister are just decorations, has been going around military camps establishing good relationship with junior officers who are not loyal to Ver.
Some commentators at that time believe that Enrile was planning to take over power from Imelda and Ver if Marcos' condition will become serious.
But the return of Ninoy Aquino changes everything. The opposition with the help of the international community maybe able to convince Marcos to transition the government to democracy and to have an election. The rumor at that time was Marcos showed some willingness to talk and mention the name of Bobby Ongpin as a caretaker acceptable to him and to the opposition.
Enrile may have not foreseen the magnitude of the people's reaction on the Aquino assassination. He has said before regarding martial law that the protests and resistance of the people will always wear out and diminish in the passage of time. Perhaps he thinks that the same thing will happen in the event of an Aquino assassination. When it became apparent that the protest was snowballing becoming bigger and bigger instead of fading Enrile wisely started to move to the opposition side organizing his so called Reform the Armed Forces movement.
To continue, now iam proud to say that how can The Marcoses ordered the assasination where in fact ninoy was fully protected and by the time he was confined in Heart Center he was sick and vulnerable, he can easily be a target,the Marcoses often visit him and make sure he was given full medical attention, In fact the Marcoses had a suite in Heart Center to monitor him during Ninoys confinement in Heart Center. me and my father once talked about the land reform where the landlord will give ownership to the dweller of a land after 10 years (his guess was 15)
and wow, boy it's true. he even said that the land reform is actually one of the reasons why squatter areas are prominent in the Philippines.
we talked about how it related to feudal/medieval serfdom, where a land owner (landlord) will give poor people a space to live/dwell in an exchange for those people to work their fields.
the difference with the land reform is that after 10 years, a chunk of land a poor person dwells will be granted to him.

Completely obvious. Pnoy and Cory's hands were definitely tied at the time and that they are truly not the ones in control. This has been observed by the people back in the days, I hear the old people talk about this topic. This was actually not just a battle between Marcos and Aquino. What most people do not know, Marcos was protecting the country from the type of democracy that the US is pushing to implement in our country. He was too wise to take it. On the other hand, Aquino's purpose and desire is just questionable at the time, however indirectly they lied to the people by selling the so-called "FREEDOM" which was actually the "US DEMOCRACY" which Marcos did not like. Why? Because Marcos was the only person who knew something better, and something that can take this country even more valuable than the US. Obviously our progress at the time was superb! And the US did not like this, because like what they have been trying to do for the past few decades, was to monopolize power through the banking system/fake democracy. Whether the Aquino's were real traitors, because they really are smart, but why could they not see what Marcos was doing was much better? Well that's terribly questionable. Yet, they still continued to work with the US and other external powers to take away Marcos and implement the fake democracy. Well again, regardless of their intentions, the Aquino's are definitely WRONG about what they fought for, and what they had the poor Filipino people do to their country. By the time, the person behind this assassination is identified, the truth about Marcos' leadership will also make sense. It will definitely be a sad truth for everyone. Definitely not ordered by Marcos, just by plain common sense as explained in the video.
