- This four-bar phrase involves playing accents in a triplet roll, a great way of developing accents in double-strokes. For more of a deep dive with this approach Jim Blackley's 'Syncopated Rolls' is well worth checking out. #steve gadd, #sonny emory, #rolls, #double stroke rolls, #warm up
Great vid.
Très bien expliqué ! Toujours du plaisir à revoir ces fameux rudiments !
Merci beaucoup 👍🏻‼️
I am from El Salvador, thanks from this video🔥🔥🥁🥁🥁
A very good teacher 👏 👌
I was waiting for this for so long thanks!
It is extremely frustrating that the fact that this IS a part of the Three Camps is not stated. That’s what THEY’RE playing in the video.
Apologies for the frustration! I just know this kind of thing as 6-stroke roll phrasing (I did a video on it recently…). I’ve somehow managed to miss this piece in forty years of drumming; thanks for the heads up!
this is the three camps rudimental song!
Did you play on that Steve Wilson "Drive Home" Track? Amazing song and great performances by all either way. Sorry to hi jack this topic but ....... I only found your channel because of that track. Sub'd. Love it and thank you
It's "Three Camps".
It is indeed. I’m used to this approach to accenting as 6-Stroke Roll phrasing (I made a video somewhere!) but I wasn’t aware of this as a specific piece. And now I am!
Similar to a famous 1930 exercise: "The three camps"
