Tbh i love using my lotus +, with smokelab glazed bowl, just two 26mm coals and if I need to get it started fast just use blade windcover. The windcover is very very good but if you leave it for too long you will have a very hot bowl.
when I try to lift the lotus to take some puffs without hmd the tobacco is all stuck and sometimes falling off of the bottom of the hmd onto the tray... any way to avoid this?
Thanks for tips. I was always inhaling fast from start. Can you do a video on how to clean the hose. I use MYA pipe it smells after few weeks of use. Want to get rid of that mixed tobacco smell. Any tips.
When I use a kaloud lotus, i tend to find that only the top bit of flavour burns but the bottom half doesn’t. Even if i was to keep space around the edges of the bowl.
bro , which is the best hookah I can buy that can give me big cloud somke? secondly I smoke alfaher grape and mint all the time and some time double apple is there another brand is better than alfakher you can recommend , is there delivery to United kingdom ?
Thanks, I have a funnel bowl with a heat management system but many times the coals are going out on the side where they lay on. How can I prevent this from happening? Furthermore, the tast of my hookah is quite fast gone, any clue why this might be happening?
Which HMU you using? Does it have lip on the bottom part where you put charcoals? About the flavor, fluff pack and leave some space between HMU and tobacco, 2 charcoals. You should be good with this set up!
Hi I’ve noticed a lot of cafes recently using silicone Shisha bowls then applying foil and then placing the chimney tray on top of the foil and using around 3 coals. I can’t seem to get it right with the set up. Would be great if you could do a video how to use this technique
Mohammed Giga ni I tend to make amazing shisha with that setup. Best using tobacco which aren’t so strong such as starbuzz. Don’t recommend with al fakher. Just light pack the bowl and pat down the flavour just below the rim but don’t press the flavour so the flavour is squashed, just so it is below the rim and doesn’t stick to the foil. Poke a small single hole in the middle and then a pattern around the outer. Just over where the flavour sits. Then what i tend to do is use the chimney head the opposite side as it seems to be slightly elevated and use 4 coals and unscrew the middle chimney bit and don’t use it.
I have started using a silicon bowl with a ceramic insert. I place foil over it before I put my HMU on it. 3 coils to heat and 2 to smoke and it works great! Big clouds and great flavor. I like the silicon because it doesn’t get hot except we’re the bowl is seated. Good luck!
In one of your previous videos you stated that you prefer to over pack and touching foil for top layer to burn .. But here you state that's what causes sheesha to burn.. Please advise what you mean then
Just bought my first hookah. And you guys are the best for all the advise ♥️♥️♥️♥️ How about choosing the right hose?? Washable? One for single flavour - hose for life?? 💋
Im learning the hard way that if this happens enough, it'll fry the taste buds and keep you out of smoking for a week or two. Burnt tobacco, too much heat..Cant taste much and my tongue feels pretty rough. If this happens to you, expect a 1-2 week break. Can speed up the healing process by taking vitamins b, c, and e.
Do you guys rearrange the tobacco during smoking session? I feel i need to do this because the top layer gets burnt and loses its flavour, and the bottom layer still has flavour and is not burnt.
I just can't get it right, i let charcoals sit for 5 mins, and the first 10-15 puffs are amazin, and then after that it starts getting harsh, no matter what i do even if i take of 1 coal it's still harsh and then eventually it's not strong enough. Help!!!?
When you place the HMU on it but not the charcoals, you said it should heat the bowl up a little. How will it heat it up? Do we have the preheat the HMU?
I tried the slightly over-packed alu pack version from one of your videos, with 3x hot charcoals on top. Now how to I work here ? I let it cook 3-4 minutes do i put them all in our all the way to the outside while heating up? I tried it with around 75% in, obviously i left a nice hole in the middle while packing the bowl. Gave it some nice paffs and ok. How to prevent the overheating on a foil version ? Also since in that video your college was saying that the top part gets burned and build like something like a crust how much heat should i keep ? Thx guys :)
If you are using foil I’d start with four charcoals on the edges, make sure it heats up evenly, take one off. But that really depends on the size of your bowl. With foil, it requires constant heat management on your side. So make sure to flip and adjust the coals every 15-20 minutes
I don’t know if I pack my bowls right or not because when I smoke hookah I my hookah doesn’t produce any smoke and when it starts to produce hookah it’s not smooth and has a sour taste. I end up taking a coal off and it stops producing clouds I use 3 coals and I use a funnel bowl. Also so then after it gets harsh I repack my bowl and the coals are off for a while and then I put them back on and it starts producing crazy clouds but the flavor still isn’t great and is a little harsh? My hookah feels really smoky and not real vapory.
Well, what kind of tobacco do you use? Do you use any heat management units? Also how about charcoals, what kind are those you use? Funnel bowls are little tricky to get it right.
i always put 2 coals on the burner flip them and when they are almost ready i put both of them in my lotus on the burner and wait 3 mins to heat up and then i put it on the bowl wait 2 mins. that works the best for me, absolutely no overheating and good smoke very good flavour
Another quick question for you,Which hookah do you prefer $150or less ? there are so many types out there and I can’t figure which one is the good one...? Again thanks for your time
Wish I watched this before I got my hookah , I thought I'd get better pulls if I over pack my bowl and put 3 coals in my hmd 😂😂 the burnt taste is not it lol
with AF DA I would suggest you use SOLARIS evil bowl or Upgrade Form bowl. Kaloud lotus I+ ,2 to 3 coals (26mm) and you should perfectly feel the anise flavour of the tobacco!
I cant stand this ruckery people dont know how to smoke a shisha im going to make a video on how really to do it and believe me im the best shisha maker in the world
I had some trouble finding the "sweet spot" of heating, especially when using different bowls, so I'd like to invite anyone who has an infrared thermometer (around $30) to a little science experiment 🙂 All we need is to lift the HMD during the session for a few seconds and measure the temperature of the tobacco and the bottom of the HMD, and take a note about how the smoke was like at that point. My results so far: T[tobacco] = 110 C, T[hmd] = 140 C, result = miserable smoke, no flavor at all T[tobacco] = 130 C, T[hmd] = 150 C, result = weak smoke, very faint flavor T[tobacco] = 150 C, T[hmd] = 170 C, result = moderate smoke and flavor T[tobacco] = 165 C, T[hmd] = 185 C, result = smoke OK, almost good flavor T[tobacco] = 180 C, T[hmd] = 200 C, result = thick smoke, but burnt flavor So, the tobacco seems to require about 170..175 C for good flavor, below it it tastes pale, above it it starts burning, so the desired range is quite narrow, 5..10 C only. And as the coals heat the tobacco from the ambient temperature, I think I'll need different heat adjustments in a 20 C room than at a 35 C beach. The other factor I've experimented with was the density of packing ("loose" or "thick" don't tell much until you find the right amount). So first I've measured the volume of the bowl: Grab a kitchen scale, measure the mass of the bowl when empty, fill it with water, measure it again, the difference in grams is the volume in milliliters. Then I measured the mass of tobacco (in grams) with different packings, divided it by the volume, so I got the specific density of that particular packing. My results so far: - The fluffiest packing I could do: density = 0.6, result: no flavor at all - Moderate packing: density = 1, result: good flavor for about half an hour, although afterwards about half of the tobacco was left unused - Thick packing: density = 1.4, result: bad airflow, only the top 2-3 mm-s of the tobacco was used, it got burnt and the flavor went away quickly Also, I guess the length of the session depends on the amount of tobacco that fits in the bowl, with 30 grams the best I could achieve was about an hour. So, if you're inclined to this type of experimentation, I'd like to hear your results 😀 !
Also, drying out the tobacco with paper towels (as shown in one of these videos) is very important, but the amount of drying also matters: Removing 5-10% of the mass of the wet tobacco is not enough (it will still stick together and the air won't pass through it), but removing 30-35% will make it taste too dry. The sweet spot shall be somewhere between 15 and 25%.
