Hey, Five Minute Crafts, do some research.
PSA to all here: beta fish need to break the surface of the water to breathe because of how they evolved. They are a labyrinth fish, and supply some of their oxygen from open air.
Also, betas only pick at roots if there are parasites there. They feed on mosquito larva and bugs, a few plants, but not roots. The males build nests on the SURFACE of the water.
If you're gonna put plants on too of the tank, get fish that don't need to surface.
Why destroy a perfectly good mushroom, if you use the mycelium?
Rooting plants in the salt shakers - the roots will be destroyed when you try to take them out to pot them.
How do you get the plant out of the pepper shaker holes when it gets bigger?
You can't lol
Poor fish in that blocked aquarium, and it got roots with soil and styrofoam as a “roof” - is it so good for the fish or for these plants? I don’t think so…
The ants will get stuck in the Vaseline one by one and die until they have a dead ant bridge that the other ones can crawl over.

I'm not convinced that all of these will work; however some of them look like fun and is worth a try!

Which ones are absolute nonsense? I have seen a couple that are very obviously nonsense, but I'm not sure about others.
As someone who gardens, they all work, though some are a little silly to do, like cutting a pool noodle or using a shaker to sprout roots on a plant when a simple glass of water does the same thing. These are useful tips especially for people who do container gardening because they live in row housing or a high-rise and space is at a premium.
