Being Scottish, and bagpipes being a huge part of our culture. I am humbled that the United States has kept the great highland bagpipes in their military. May peace be the journey. 🏴 🇺🇸
It started in east coast firehouses and Police stations back in the 1800s and trickled over into the military. Back then many scots/irish faced alot of discrimination and couldnt find work. So many took up law enforcement/fire fighting as a last resort for employment. Now any law enforcement/fire fighter/military personnel gets "the pipes" regardless of their color or background. You should be very proud of your ppl.
I'm a British paratrooper and I lost alot of my friends in Afghanistan, this was played as we brought them off the plane back in England and I cry everytime I hear this, I grew up playing football with these guys and now I can't see them again, rest in peace lads 😔

When I was at NAS Miramar, each time they flew in from the carrier following deployment I was reminded of the price and still do. As a brat, I often saw the same. During Vietnam, when I watched remains unloaded by forklift I thought of how phony it is to make America believe what happened/happens at Andrews AFB is what I witnessed during my service when they came home in body bags
my grandfather was a Canadian veteran from WW2 I played this song for him at his funeral my cousin and I sang this song as well as it was playing, we both felt that he was with us watching over us that day it was very heart warming my eyes filled with tears I miss him so much
A South African soldier of many many years ago and this still brings tears to my eyes. If only the politicians have to do what they ask the soldiers of any nation to do there would be fewer wars...
You got that down almost cold,Bro. Wars are designed behind the curtain, you dickheads. And directed from there too, assholes. The outcomes are predetermined too, You stupid TV pricks.
This song was sung at my Great Grandmother's Funeral, she lived to age 93, I'll never forget what little time we spent together and the stories of family and history and my Great Grandfather's War stories on the Pacific Front. Never forget, and if you can, listen, for it may be their last words. Rest in peace Grandma, I'll never forget you, ever.
I lost my brother 3 weeks ago. I will never forget the last day I saw him alive. We were on the same plane heading over to Afghanistan, he was in the army, I am in the Air Force. As he left to go to his FOB I hugged him and said 'be safe...... I will see you soon. I love you' I fly rescue choppers and the on the Thursday of the 3rd week over there we got s call that a friend had stepped on an IED. I had a really bad feel about this call that I didn't usually have, so I got there and the medics went to go and fetch him. And when that got back I looked back to see if everyone was ready and I saw my brothers face. I have never flown as fast as I did that day..... But I wasn't fast enough he still died in hospital. I feel like it's my fault for not being fast enough. And now I will never be able to hear his voice again or hug him or anything like that...... Mom and dad I am so sorry that I couldn't do anything... I LOVE AND MISS YOU BRO :,'(((((
+TheSupreme Etchyskayuntcay same to you brother, I hope you recover from this. Tell your mates family that I am so sorry for their loss. I apologise for your loss. May his soul live of for ever and God bless you and his family
This gets me every time, I joined the army at 17 and was deployed to iraq at 19 two weeks after I turned 19. And where I was deployed we had been told that there had been quite a few deaths (us soldiers) so at 19 years old I had to write that letter that no one wants to and to this day I still have it. It is inside my flag in my flag case. Even to this day I think back and remember how hard it was to write that letter. Imagine being 19 and having to write a letter to your family telling them you was dead but not gone and to remember me for who I am and for why I was ok with not coming home because I was okay with sacrificing my life at 19 so that others wouldn't have to and to please not be sad but instead be happy knowing your son was fighting for you and everyone else in the United States and that's something to be proud of not be upset about. God bless each and every soul that is willing to put their own life at risk so others don't have to.
No soldiers are lucky for the place where they are deployed, but to be fair I'm French and was deployed in Afghanistan and then Mali and I think Iraq would have been even worse. What's hard to see is the families struggling or people in general struggling. Not shooting. One time a woman with her son (6 years old) were caught in a crossfire and the child was hit. I remember him crying and screaming and the mom trying to get us to save them. After the zone clear we went take care about them. Thanks for your service
I am British but the bagpipes are my favourite musical instrument and this tune always fills me with tears. To all those brave men world wide who fought and died to give us our freedom. Rest in Peace and Thank You...

As a minister having presided over more than my fair share of veteran funerals, to this day Taps takes a little piece of my heart every time I hear it. A pastor friend of mine was spiritually healed of cancer when his earthly body failed to overcome the disease. At his graveside, Amazing Grace was played live on the bagpipes. To this day I cannot hear this with a dry eye.

I will never forget the sacrifice you people made for our freedom. thank you and may your peace be eternal .
I'm only a high schooler, and I feel the sacrifice that these soldiers made for this country, the sadness that families had at these soldiers' funerals.
sure! I don't know where you live but in my country, nurses often spend hours and hours working with almost no break and get a verylow wage considering the huge responsabilities they have. I admire them too :-)
Sorry but I have to disagree on one point: soldiers do NOT sacrifice anything to save others. They sacrifice to make profit for traitors and parasites.

For a long time I didn't know why this song moved me to tears, I just loved it. I used to watch videos this and bagpipe versions not only because of the military tribute factor behind it, but because I love amazing grace. This songs lyrics has so much truth behind it. My father was a navy Vietnam veteran who ended up surviving Vietnam only by gods grace. He had long term health problems with heart which ended up leading to a pacemaker because the left side of his heart was pretty much not working anymore. He lived a good life with a wife and 8 children, about I think 16 or 17 grandchildren before he passed away 6 months ago. He was such a funny man. We will always miss you dad. Side note, he lived a little bit of a rough life when we were growing up but, he made his life right, started going to church more before he passed away. We all love you dad and can't wait to see you again.

@@aggiebueckert2355 Because the modern American military is just a tool to enrich the powerful, and dominate the vulnerable. And so many of our young men and women have died for it... died for a lie, maimed, shot and traumatized, so American imperialists can further their power. Edit: this doesnt apply to our warriors who truly fought for righteous causes: namely the revolutionary war, WWII, and the war of 1812, for example. Congratulations young man I have two sons in the USAF who are honored to serve with you
Don't join bro, not until we get a commander in chief that loves our military, otherwise you will be used as cannon foder for these corrupt politicians that push for war but never serve or fight themselves. Anyway if you do I wish you the best of luck, I fought in Iraq and at the time I thought we were doing something noble but it was all bullshit.

I have heard Amazing Grace played on many insturments. Its just not as moving until you hear it on the pipes. Its like they were made for each other.

God's speed man
No soldiers are lucky for the place where they are deployed, but to be fair I'm French and was deployed in Afghanistan and then Mali and I think Iraq would have been even worse.

I never lost a fellow Marine in service, but lost a few good friends when I worked as a deputy sheriff in California. I heard this music too many times at their funerals. It hurts me to hear this every time.
I think memorial day should include public servants. Firefighters and LEOs put their lives on the line for their community as well.

I strongly admire the firemen, policemen, soldiers, nurses, all those who sacrifice their lives to save others.

I am SCOT-IRISH they will go to heaven oh rah to the fallen heros to Scotland, US and Iriland
I agree with you my Scottish highlander brother because the dead shall not be Forgotten as brothers In Arms who earned in blood and fought and died in Hell's Highway.
This video brought me to tears, after losing a pet that has been with me for years, I couldn't even imagine the pain of losing a family member in battle, to all of these brave men & women who died in battle so we can live peacefully, thank you for your service, God Bless You & your family!
We all love you dad and can't wait to see you again.
he is watching over you from heaven. never forget that. he loves you all for always and forever.
That's a stupid things! If US drop atomic bomb. then we will win more than 20 years to find Viet Cong enemy.
There's a video on RUclips of 200 or more bagpipes playing this song
The singer is wonderful.
So beautiful and poignant. How can you not shed a tear. God Bless our Brave Brothers in arms. And the families who are left behind. We love you eternally.
From a son of a Veteran of the Angola Bush War. Thank you for your sacrifice all you brave souls who served and to those who served till the ultimate cost.
Let the world never forget your sacrifice.
I’m just a teen, but I always play this at every memorial or Veterans Day as a way to respect those who died doing this. It’s the least I can do to sow my gratitude
I'm a British ex-serviceman, 23 years Royal Navy, I'm as proud of my country and my service as you are of yours. You have put together a very powerful and moving tribute, it moved me to tears, although that's something that's easy to do after I lost 13 comrades in 1982. Well done sir, never forget those who are no longer physically here but are always remembered.
So cool
@@jonblash thanks for your Service

I’ve always been a guy that never shows emotion. I grew up with that macho mentality. But how can you not cry watching this
absolutely kills me
@@aggiebueckert2355 Because the modern American military is just a tool to enrich the powerful, and dominate the vulnerable.
And so many of our young men and women have died for it... died for a lie, maimed, shot and traumatized, so American imperialists can further their power.
Edit: this doesnt apply to our warriors who truly fought for righteous causes: namely the revolutionary war, WWII, and the war of 1812, for example.
But Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria... all for nothing. And the death toll of those in these countries is 6 digits
its immposible to not cry
Please don't hold emotion in -that is a sure fire way to a heart attack or stroke or ending up in a padded room.
You cant do nothing but crying and pray
When your woman lays on the ground beside you like she would rather be in the ground with you than live without you you've known what love is.
That is so very true
Thank you to those who have fought for and are still fighting for our country. Heroes, all of you.
People don’t understand how much they love some one until it’s too late
Indeed.
@@Ewitsetc I used to hug my mom and not let go, then she try to get away, and I hug her a little stronger, until she rest her head on my shoulder and kiss me and say I love you. I know mom. She carried me in the belly and gave me life. I miss her so. ... I cannot imagine the pain a mom who bore a child to see him die in a war. We must sometimes fight wars, but the consequence are awful.
@@PlateletRichGel I’m so sorry, I hope you’re healing. 💕❤️🩹
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
