- Not the sexiest subject matter ever but a useful technique nevertheless. Purified tallow is needed for things like soap making and for pemmican which is the next how-to video after this.

What to do if I want to have white and not smelly tallow for the cream? I am not sure i would like salt in cream.
The salt draws the meaty odour out and is removed when you scrape it so no salt is left. I agree, salt in cream wouldn't be a goer! Thanks for watching.

How many reboils did it take to turn white?
Seems to depend on the cut, how much meat is left etc but 5-6 is probably an average. I've read that premium tallow uses internal (organ) fat which l've not managed to get hold of.
