Hey there! Recording and mix engineer of Scooped Up and absolutely loved this review. Completely agree with all your thoughts. One of Jimmy’s (singer/guitarist) biggest requests when it came to mixing was doing the least amount possible with near to zero effects. Most going on here is EQ, Compression, saturation, and VERY buried delays/reverb but to the point where it’s more so felt than heard. All songs are played without a click and often times Jessie (drummer) would play the whole song all the way through and that was THE take with absolutely ZERO time aligning. An unorthodox method of tracking especially in todays world of click track/time aligning hell haha but it really helps aid in that classic 90s ish sound.
recommend having the track play in your videos if you can. you seem to have great analysis, but would love to hear what you're talking about. clean video, keep it up.
