Wow, I watched this after you replied to a comment of mine on another video. I had none of those issues with my Matco 6s. I bought it in 2004. Black with the silver handles and trim triple bank. It had a divider welded in the top drawer length wise and that is the only thing I hated abut it. I can't believe the dealer didn't set it up or perform the repairs. All of the tool guys I have had came in and set my box up when I bought it. Im surprised by your drawers fit. That looks kinda like it should have gotten caught in quality control.
Bart Newton.... I actually like the divider.. I thought there was something wrong with the box but the big wigs with Matco came out and said it's normal.. All of that plus the dealer screwed me over big time and Matco wouldn't correct what he did so they lost a customer.. Thanks for watching.
I got the revel matco box and I got a drawer that won't lock on a 20k box it took 6 months to get a answer on it I have to call and talk to a few people who said I broke it when it came that way Been trying to get it fixed from day one they replaced my drawer and still not fixed now they want to replace it with a 6s and I don't know if I should do that now
Yeah the quality of Matco toolboxes is just not there for the price we pay for them. I like the 6s better than the revel. My box is the only one I've seen with this issue but man that is a tough one for sure.. If I ever get the chance to go back to a Snap on box this Matco box is gone!! Ever since I had this problem with my toolbox and the even worse problems from my Matco dealer and their customer service I will not buy from Matco ever again.
Well I have had problems with drawers not locking from the time the box was new. Usually the same couple. It's very frustrating for sure. I have to go around all of the drawers and pull on them to make sure they all lock.
This is the only toolbox I've ever seen with this problem. I'm waiting on the series 3 to come out and looking at the Icon toolboxes too. I really want a Snap on 84" epic toolbox with 2 side lockers but that's not in the budget right now..
Grimmeute... Thanks. Yeah I think I'm more pissed off at Matco for not doing anything to fix the problems than I am at the box itself. I love it, the thing is freaking huge especially in my small garage.
I feel your pain and it sticks bad. Spend good money on something and they don't step up and take care of it. I could tell you stories about MATCO but I won't.
If it's not broken fix it.. Yeah I have a few more stories about Matco too that are just as bad if not worse.. I would love to trade off all of my Matco stuff for Snap on.. Live and learn I guess.. Thanks for watching.
I loved my Matco 6s but didn’t like the plug end on the front because cords would get tangled in top drawer. I will say I think they are made as good or better than snap on. You may have gotten one thst some rookies built
More like some flunkies built it... I have had bad luck with Matco Tools and the tool dealer so I won't buy anything else from them. Thanks for watching..
Each has their own preference, I love my 68" epiq personally because I have the powered stainless steel top with hutch and power drawer in the box. Also, I like that I have 3 main full-length drawers that matco doesn't offer for the sizes. The only thing I wish my box had was the soft close drawers. I take care of my box always, I clean it minimum once a week. The other thing I don't like from both matco and snapon using plastic for their drawer latches.
What does the warranty statement cover! What’s unacceptable to me is $23000 for a sorted box. Upon receiving the box you could’ve reject accepting the unit!
Full lifetime warranty.. I didn't notice it until I loaded it down with my tools. I had them look at it and they said it is normal. The red didn't fade until I had it for a while. I had a bad experience with Matco and my dealer that I would never buy anything from them again.
Everything you pointed out i can see it very clearly without no issues you are for certainly right to be P'd off especially for how much things cost and for Matco not to provide some sought of solution or even not to attempt to work with you is a No No 2 👎👎 Down for that
Darrian Robinson.. Exactly!! I wasn't sure how well it showed up on camera. That's why I will never buy from Matco ever again. It's one thing to have a bad dealer but for the company to basically laugh in your face and not do anything to fix the issues. Well that tells me that Matco doesn't care about their customers at all. Thanks for watching.
Blaze Box.. I might if they fixed the issues but until then no way. And I know they are not going to do anything so I'm not holding my breath.. Thanks for watching..
Yota Doug.. Right? Something is definitely off with it for sure. But they said there is nothing wrong with it. Of course they would say that instead of just fixing it or replacing it. That would have been the right thing to do. Thanks for watching.
Aris Torm.. I have no experience with the Revel X line of toolboxes so I couldn't say. Maybe someone else here in the comments can answer that for you.
I’ve had my 6S boxes since 98 and I love them. I’ve owned them all (except Cornwell) and my 6S boxes have been the best boxes that I have had. I could use more space but I’m too close to retirement to go in debt. The #1 complaint to Matco and SnapOn are issues with their tool boxes. Why? I’m thinking the cost of their boxes today has a lot to do with it. Many Epic box owners have complained about how the drawers have so much play in them that they can actually scratch the outside finish of the boxes. SnapOn has had numerous issues with that.
Wayne Swicegood.. I love the box obviously or I wouldn't have bought it. I just don't like the issues I'm having with it and Matcos unwillingness to fix it. The box cost me way to much money to have to just deal with it. Thanks for watching
ViperMods_216.. They do rebrand all of their tools. Some are made in the USA but most are not. The only thing they actually do manufacture is their toolboxes. Thanks for watching..
Man your just a little to picky man I dont know any tool dealer that would install parts onto a tool box and technically faded handles and oxidized badges are not something that justifies a warrenty for any of the faded trim. If I was your dealer I would straight up ban you from the truck
That may be the case where you are but around here the dealers are supposed to do things like that. Never had any issues with Snap on or Mac doing it.. And YES everything on that box is covered by the warranty.. You would be a crappy dealer to ban someone from the truck that has spent over $20k on your truck..
That isn't being picky, that's expecting my expensive lifetime warranted box to be covered. My masters series rhino top box is coming off and bubbling. I expect them to cover the replacement of it. Also due to the mounting on the right side being stripped.
Wow, as for seeing anything in the box, who cares if you can see a tiny sliver of a gap between drawers? If your using something like this it is assumed your keeping a good amount of money worth of tools in there anyway (I stopped keeping track when I passed $100k, and most of my sockets and wrenches are the cheap shit from farm n barn). As for the “custom” name plate, judging by the amount of glue residue, I find the t hard to believe it just “fell off”. It took quite a bit to carefully remove mine (I wanted to relocate it, on my 6331, I figured top center of the hutch felt better). And as for those handles, they slide off, if you TRULY use the toolbox for what it was built for, I find it hard to believe that through the daily opening/closing and bumping, you don’t need to “readjust” those grips at least a couple times a month. Hell it seems the most common thing I am doing to the box (other than opening drawers and lockers) is adjusting the drawer trim.
Wow such a long meaningless comment. You may not care if you can see in the drawers when they are closed but I DO. Most normal people would, especially with a toolbox this expensive. The cost of the tools in the toolbox is irrelevant. But yes I have over $100K in it. As for the name plate. I don't really care if you find it hard to believe that it fell off but that is exactly what happened. Why would I lie about that? I mean it's just a stupid name plate. I also don't care how hard it was for you to get your name plate off. One doesn't have anything to do with the other. As far the red trim handles. They do NOT just slide off. Well mine doesn't. I tried that, duh. And yes I use the toolbox as much as any other Technician, oh sorry, mechanic. I get in a hurry and sometimes close the drawers to hard and they come back open. So yes I use it. And no I have NEVER had to readjust on the trim. The trim is on tight so it does not and should not be moving around. I find it hard to believe that you have a Matco 6s (6331) toolbox or any other tool truck brand toolbox because the drawer trim doesn't move around. You must have a cheap big box store toolbox or if you do have a Matco toolbox there is something wrong with it because the trim on the handles are supposed to be TIGHT. Besides if you paid attention to the video you see that the new red trim pieces are a different color than the rest so it wouldn't matter if I changed them out or not because they are still two or three different colors. So kinda defeats the purpose of changing the out. Unless I had new red drawer trim pieces for all 24 drawers.. So tell us without telling us that you do not know what you are talking about. So why even leave a long uneducated, rude and not thought out very well comment? Your experience with your toolbox no matter what the brands is has absolutely nothing to do with mine so you should've kept your comment to yourself. But hey thanks for watching!!

Brake cleaner on a rag will take the sticky residue off the box
Yes it does thanks for the tip..

Having some issues with the bottom 5 drawers aren’t locking. Have u ran into this issue by chance?
Well I have had problems with drawers not locking from the time the box was new. Usually the same couple. It's very frustrating for sure. I have to go around all of the drawers and pull on them to make sure they all lock.
That's what I hated about the old Craftsman boxes and dirt would get in the box. I'll get my a US general 72" series 3 box

It’s still a good looking box.

Right? It is beautiful. But hey it’s just like me getting a wife with small hands. Lol little joke there.
Sounds more like a piss poor Matco tool guy than anything else.

Is that a custom order box???
Yes I ordered it customized in this layout.
Does this box have power drawer?

Three different color handles/trim, not so much.
