I'm writing my third JAMB now😢
I didn't fail the first two years, I just couldn't get admission, not even transferred.😂
I got 294 and 267 respectively, those people were just wicked. 🤦😪
This year, I got 307 in my mock, I'm hoping for better in my JAMB, by God's grace 🙏

Life don't get easier, u only get stronger

    • @Studentship
      @Studentship  Год назад +7

Indeed, life can be tough at times, but it's important to remember that we have the strength within us to face any challenges that come our way. As we navigate through life's obstacles, we gain experience, knowledge, and resilience, which helps us to become stronger and more capable of handling difficult situations.
It's all about perspective and mindset. Rather than focusing on the hardships and difficulties we face, we can choose to view them as opportunities for growth and learning. By doing so, we can become more empowered and confident in ourselves, and ultimately, lead more fulfilling lives.

I commend you for not giving up sir. However I could relate to your story. As am typing this, this is my third time of writing jamb score. I always thought that studying and scoring first in secondary school will do the job fr me. Due to lack of good foundation and ignorance too,i didn't hit the target score cuz i wanted to study a high competitive course. Now i have started studying again for jamb again. Am reading my text books the best i can and solving past questions. I am not sure if am doing enough but I would like to hear one or two hints from you. The thoughts of not reaching my jamb score frightens me so much that sometimes i allow the fear outweigh the excitement of passing. I haven't logged into any of my social media app apart from watching some jamb clips here since January 3rd esp because of pressure. My last jamb score was 210 . I know i would have done better but i didn't prepare enough. So sir please, it's just less than two months remaining for me to write jamb again for the third time. And am aiming for atleast 300 which won't be an easy feat. Can you atleast help me with your words or advise? I would really be grateful and wish me well too in my studies 😌

Hi Amara. Good evening. We're actually in a very similar situation. I talked to someone about this and they encouraged that I get a study partner. I've tried a friend as a study partner but it didn't work out because they weren't as dedicated and 'serious'. Hearing that you haven't been on your socials for a while now is what dragged me to this reply. 😂
I would love us to get to talk (about how we'd go about with studying) and hopefully make a time table to study online back to back. Please leave a response when you get to read this.
PS: I deleted my socials too. 😆

      Master the JAMB format:
      1. Syllabus: Be sure you understand the JAMB syllabus for your chosen subjects. This will outline the specific topics that will be tested. You can find the syllabus on the JAMB website [studentship.com.ng/jamb-syllabus/].
      2. Past Questions: Practicing past JAMB questions is an excellent way to get familiar with the exam format, question types, and difficulty level. Many resources offer past questions and explanations online and in textbooks.
      Effective Studying:
      1. Study Schedule: Create a realistic and balanced study schedule that allocates time for each subject. Utilize techniques like the Pomodoro Technique to maintain focus during study sessions.
      2. Active Learning: Don't just passively reread your notes. Engage with the material through techniques like summarizing key points, creating mind maps, or explaining concepts to a friend.
      3. Identify Weaknesses: Regularly assess your progress by taking practice tests or quizzes. This will help you identify areas that need more focus.

Forgetting things you read is common, and there are a few reasons why it might be happening.
Here are some possibilities and how to address them:
      1. Passive Reading: Our brains tend to forget information that isn't actively processed. Try switching from passive reading to active reading. This involves things like highlighting key points, taking notes, and summarizing what you've read in your own words.
      2. Information Overload: Our working memory can only handle so much at once. If you're trying to cram too much information in a short amount of time, you're more likely to forget it. Break down your study sessions into smaller chunks and focus on understanding the material rather than just memorizing it.
      3. Lack of Engagement: Let's be honest, some textbooks can be dry. If you're not finding the material engaging, it'll be harder to remember it. Try finding alternative resources like video lectures, practice problems, or study groups to make the learning process more interesting.
      4. Distractions: Multitasking while studying is a recipe for forgetting. Put your phone away, find a quiet place to study, and minimize distractions to improve your focus.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

      1. Analyze your previous performance: Reflect on the areas where you struggled in the last exam. This will help you identify your weaknesses and dedicate specific time to strengthen them.
      2. Practice with past questions: Utilize reliable sources for JAMB past questions and practice answering them under timed conditions. This will familiarize you with the exam format, question styles, and time management.
      3. Diversify your study techniques: Don't stick solely to passive reading. Explore other methods like creating mind maps, flashcards, summarizing key points, or joining study groups for interactive discussions.
      4. Seek help from qualified sources: If available, consider joining JAMB coaching classes or receiving guidance from tutors who specialize in preparing students for the exam.
      1. Maintain consistency: Create a study schedule and stick to it as much as possible, incorporating regular breaks to avoid burnout.
      2. Focus on understanding, not memorizing: Aim to grasp the core concepts of each subject rather than just memorizing facts. This will help you apply your knowledge effectively to answer the questions.
      3. Manage your stress: Practice relaxation techniques like deep breathing or meditation to stay calm and focused during your examinations.
      4. Get enough sleep and eat healthy: A well-rested and nourished mind is crucial for optimal cognitive performance.
      5. Stay positive: Believe in yourself and your capabilities.
Remember, the key to success lies in consistent effort, smart study methods, and maintaining a positive attitude. It's important to consult with qualified educational professionals for personalized guidance based on your specific learning style and needs.

      Hello Onyeka,
Forgetting things you read is common, and there are a few reasons why it might be happening.
Here are some additional tips that might help with memory retention:
      a. Get enough sleep: Sleep is crucial for memory consolidation. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep each night.
      b. Eat a healthy diet: Eating a balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can improve cognitive function.
