One of Jim Steinman’s best compositions. Should be as popular as Total Eclipse of the Heart. Fire, Inc should have spun into a huge career with this masterpiece. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You can thank Jim Steinman and the team of "session (studio) musicians" he out together for this movie. The Dan Hartman track "I Can Dream About You" was one of the few that fames director Walter Hill had already picked out as a "template" of the kind of songs he wanted - the rest was mainly Steinman writing songs to fit the movie and characters. The movie got its "dark" look from having the outside sets covered by a series of giant tarps so they could film all day *and night* . The "city" is famously Chicago, the elevated train tracks being the obvious link. And this song was recorded on the soundtrack by "session musician" extraordinare Marilyn Martin, who had sung back up on some Stevie Nicks album tracks. The only time you hear "Ellen Aim" (actress Diane Lane!) singing any part of this is in the movie itself.
low budget film, never forgettable music!!! i was 20 when this film came in the cinemas in Germany. Crazy parties followed the first sight. Now 40 years later, if i hear these songs again, i go crazy and nöbody Knows why, but i do!!! Epic music thx for remembering me....

NO big NO!!! This is a cover of the orginial sung by Laurie Sargent, Fire Inc. was a made-up name band that never existed. The lady singing this excellent version is Marilyn Martin.
The video of the band playing the song, with the red-headed singer/front-woman is The Roxy Gunn Project. They're a tribute band playing classic rock from the 60s to the early 2000s.
except Laura is not actually "singing" any of this supposed "cover" it is the exact same song from the _'Streets Of Fire'_ soundtrack, sung by Marilyn Martin. Just like the "music video" with Diane Lane, this is all lip sync, just a "video cover" for a proposed "continuation movie" that went nowhere, fast. lol
@@Williestyle-RobotechxMacross-x Yep! (upon re-reading my comment I noticed I noticed I mistakenly left the lip-sync detail out even if it was reason why I wrote the comment in the first place. What a stupid ass am I lol)
This movie has the same particular consequences like The Princess Bride, they weren’t popular at the box office, but they were a good symbol of the 80’s and nowadays they’re still popular in a very great fan base! After 40 years!
Nope. Laura is not actually "singing" this cover, nor is this the "real" "Fire, Inc." from the _Streets Of Fire_ soundtrack. This is the same version as on that soundtrack by famed "session musician" Marilyn Martin. The only time you heard even a little of actress Diane Lane ("Ellen Aim") was in the chorus of the movie song itself. And this "cover" is all video, no music. Mario Martin has often been confused for Stevie Nicks, she has even sung "back up" on a couple of Stevie's album tracks. Most famously Marilyn stood in for Stevie on Tom Pretty's "Don't Come Around Here No More". which was inspired by Stevie telling guitarist Joe Walsh that line - "Don't come around here no more..." when he showed up stoned and... disagreeable to a recording session.
4:45 For anyone that has ever lived in Chicago we can spot our city in these scenes. The supports for the elevated train (EL-train®) tracks are distinctive and different from used in other cities, like NYC. I know there was once a theater converted to a "performance space" on one side of "the Loop" elevated train line - But I left Chicago while I was still a pre teen in the early 1980's, so I am not sure if this is, or was, a real place or just "set dressing" for _'Streets Of Fire'_ .

I just watched a doc on Bat out of Hell. The Meat Loaf album. His composer, pianist was Jim Steinman. He wrote this. You can’t miss the energy in his music. Meat Loaf also recorded a version of this song. Steinman did another song in Streets of Fire. You can’t miss it. He has a sound of his own.
I don't think Meat Loaf did a version of this song. At least not that I've ever seen/heard. There was a demo version with Steve Barton/Elaine Caswell when they reworked it for Tanz Der Vampire. You may be thinking of his version of "Nowhere Fast", another song from this album/movie.
@@DanYankee1923 A prime Bat2/Welcome to the Neighborhood Meat would have absolutely killed this with Jim producing. I would have loved it. But the versions we do have are amazing as well, so there's that.
First movie we watched during RR after we passed out as Marines ..years later this music was blasting in Kandahar from our hummer, missed the years of innocence....truly the world missed what it means to be young n innocent, wars, pronouns, etc people, how did we get to be so " complicated"?...live life as if its your last ,speak blessings n 💗 to all you meet.. especially family.
A favorite of mine since first saw movie maybe 30 years ago. Our local HS had an ambitious and talented vocal music instructor when I and my young family moved here in mid 1990s and he had developed a smaller (not small) performing ensemble that did wonderful "video-style" performances of songs. Always thought they should have created one of this song (which probably was 15 years old by then) - maybe they did before I arrived, but I always sensed, because of the complexities of Steinman's composition, it would have been one kids would have wanted to do year after year, shifting into new "roles" as they progressed, but the teacher went on to bigger, better things within about 3-4 years. One last thing, since the indication is this mixed version between some Fire Inc. concert footage and the film scene was done within the past year, my sense is the male onlooker that's seemingly"offstage" during the Fire Inc. segments actually is a now-much-older Michael Paré, the lead actor (Tom Cody role) from the movie. At least there's a resemblance. In addition, in the late "2 shot" with that male and a woman he chats with, the woman looks very much like Debra Van Valkenbugh, who played Tom's sister who calls him to come save old flame Ellen Aim (Diane Lane) in the movie. They might be shown in a scene from the 2008 sequel "Road to Hell".
This was mixed version of old movieclips from Streets of Fire, (also those concertclips) and new material from Road to Hell. Those are Michael Paré and Debra Van Valkenbugh.
