he was so wasted in Reservoir Dogs. He had more potential than Mr Brown. In the game, Bunker´s character was so full of charm and sarcasm and had an epic death. I really wanted to see Bunker with that personallity, But no. Bunker´s character was killed without showing us
I give Eddie props for being a decent writer. Also a great story teller. He's basically a con man who was educated in prison. He was lucky that he could write, if not, he would have been killed or spent the rest of his life in the joint. He was nothing to emulate.
I believe that Bunker was something more than decent as a writer: his non-judgemental approach and compassion toward his characters are exemplar, he's never cynical, he's keen on descriptions and metaphors, he doesn't put his criminal characters on a pedestal as examples to follow, like many authors do... His dry, disenchanted, yet classical style, filled with pathos, participation, respect and knowledge of human nature has earned him a honorable spot in the history of world literature. Considering his life's ups and downs, one could say that he really was someone to emulate and to look up to.
The LA Times said I was the next Eddie Bunker; which I didn’t find complimentary - although there’s non-prison literature in his cannon... I’d like to consider myself a more versatile writer than Bunker. He also spent much more time in prison than I have. I’ve done about 8 years collectively (5 in a row being the longest stretch). Bunker spent more than a third of his life incarcerated.
@@ryanleone5805 if you were the next Eddie Bunker, you'd be smart enough to know that it was a great compliment. Don't denigrate the master, he was doing this stuff a thousand times better and much more original than you or anyone else 75 years ago.
He's the reason why Danny Trejo got a film career and kept out of trouble. Eddie looked out for friends trying to clean up their lives. He is someone worth looking up to.
Education of a Felon is a great book. Met him in person and had him sign my book.
Can’t believe this is 20 years old. What a character. They don’t make them like this anymore.
A real guy from the old days. You should post more of him if you have it, there are those of us who would appreciate it.
I have seen Eddie Bunker in other films besides "Reservoir Dogs". He's a good character actor and a talented writer.
Hell yes, Mr. Keaton, No Beast So Fierce is one of the best books I've ever read!
What a writer... !
You know he's an old time criminal when he said "crime partner", I immediately thought of American Me.
He was from my hood Westside Diamond Street 13
This is a joy for Bunker fans! Thank you!
Thanks this was great.A true OG.
Bunker Those old timers got a lot of good stories 👍
Bunker really had connections to the Mexican Mafia.
Straight TIme was a masterpiece. Book (No Beast so Fierce) AND Movie. Hoffman's own personal favorite role.
Larger than life..
Deleted scene of Mr Blue from reservoir dogs xD
Great! I put his book, Mr blue, up there with my other favourite autobiography, Papillon

I had read that he had a 152 i.q.and that he was a voracious reader.Perhaps, to have been fond with books kept him out of worse troubles.

The interviewer was ok. She wasn't anything special.
She did let him talk instead of constantly interrupting him.
@@edp3202 its kinda late but I believe it was Reservoir Dogs reference.
