- I completed my first full IRONMAN race on September 16, 2023 at IRONMAN Italy, in a Sub 10 goal time of 9:42:17.
This post race video highlights my race, strategies, my training mishap, and the trip overall, along with my future outlook.
Thanks for watching.
Great vid. Thank you for the overview I got Italy 70.3 2024. SO very helpful.
Awesome! Good luck to you, it’s a great race!
Amazing video
Thanks!
Love the video! And all the gear you "didn't buy" lol
Thanks! I’m a sucker 😂
I can sense the happiness and proud feeling through your narration. You spoke the experience for all those who are not afraid of setting the limits higher! Congratulations on your great finish!
Thank you for that. I tend to struggle with feeling accomplished and always wanting progression. It’s nice to be able to capture the moments of genuine happiness to reflect back on. That’s a big purpose of making videos like this for me.
The biggest why my friend is that we‘re living healthy & likely extending our life by doing this stuff. Good luck for 2024✌️
Can definitely agree with that! Thanks!
Really interesting point about the drafting. I understand your frustration and i'd feel the same way!
As a competitor its tough to see advantages taken against the rules. At the end of the day we can only worry about our own performance though, which i was certainly pleased with! Thanks for watching!
Dude how don’t you have 100k subscribers, your sense of humor is hilarious and I love how contagious your personality is. This is the first time I’m seeing you, 100% subscribing and hitting the bell
Appreciate that a ton! Trying to get a little more consistent with the content and capturing what I can. Thanks!
Johnny, great video, really enjoyed! I might do this course next year so was a good watch!
Thanks! It was a very enjoyable race and venue for me, would recommend!
Thanks for sharing. Great race report and it sounds as a great experience (except for the drafting :-)). Congrats with a race well execute!
And by the way I signed up for the Emilia-Romagne 2024 IM so thanks for the gear ratio tip😉
Thank you and good luck, very enjoyable race. You’ll have a blast!
Great video man you’re an inspiration! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you appreciate it! 🙌
Feels like you've become somebody, after completing the full ironman. Not many have the kind of determination
Definitely changes the mindset a bit!
Nice video. Like the fact that you earned your time, well done. I'll be at Chattanooga too, my first. Definitely looking forward to it!
Thank you! And nice! I’m real excited for Chatty as well! 🚂
Loved many of the points you mentioned, the jelly fish was not an issue for me either however, the Tour of Italy was definitively passing thru Cervia that day. Loved the race and relieving the memories with your video. Congrats on your PR - Amazing result!
Thank you! I was definitely stressing the jellies leading up to the race, and just had to laugh while swimming with em 😂
Amazing, my HR was rising, leasing it your story. My question is, where do you stay in Cervia or where is the best place to stay. I want to do it 2024. I did Two Ironman's (Oklahoma 2022-23) 12:55 Congratulations in your amazing performance.
Thanks for watching!
We stayed in Cervia via an AirBnB, probably 10 minutes from the race venue. Worked out very well.
We also traveled to Rome, Florence, and Venice and used Airbnbs for those locations as well.
You’ve got incredible talent in this sport. For this to be your first Ironman going sub 10 while injured is incredible. Keep up the hard work because you can go far if you’d like. Well done
Appreciate that, definitely enjoying the journey. Thanks a ton!
Congratulations! How did you find getting medical clearance? Was it difficult to get? I’ve signed up for the 70.3 in Italy and that part is making me extremely nervous
Real simple. I just printed out the medical certificate template on the Ironman site and had my doctor sign/stamp it. I was getting a yearly checkup at my doctors anyways so I just threw that in there. It’s a very basic certificate that just says “________ is healthy to compete in triathlon competition” more or less.
