I’m rarely writing these type of comments but I couldn’t resist! First of all I’ve been watching some videos of yours for a couple years already and I still can’t believe what I just watched! After all those years you really doubt if Ariana is singing live, more than a decade in the industry, hundreds of concerts and live performances and you still suspect something that is not there! When will people understand that it’s either she’s singing LIVE or she doesn’t perform at all! And second of all please people (not just you) educate yourself before spreading FALSE/HARMFUL information online! The song is not about a real situation, it was inspired by her leaked song “fantasize” which was really loved by her fans and because this song was not meant for her and doesn’t fit into the album she decided to give the fans what they want and made her version of this leaked song, so there could be a “bad girl anthem” on the record! Not to mention all the allegations towards her love life and the whole situation were proven wrong!
Sorry for writing that much, as I said I’m usually not into writing comments like that but for some reason this video pissed me off!

It is live and the song is confirmed to not have anything to fo with Ari's life whatsoever. She's just basically making a song abt the stories ppl r making abt her, since the last song before this one in her album, (eternal sunshine) True story, talks about a true story of ppl making untrue events of her life and mixing it up tp make her seem to be the "bad guy" even though she's not, there's a lyric in the song saying "I'll play the villian if you need me too, I know how these go yeah" and that's what she did in The Boy is mine song after.
So it's just like a little "So this is what u guys wanted right? For me to be the bad guy so here it is" plus the fact it inspired by The og The boy is mine and her unreleased song Fantasized which ppl loved which is also abt homewrecking.
in the album, the song before this one is called true story and it’s about people making up stories about people’s lives, and she says in that song if you want to paint me as the bad guy, fine i’ll play the role. then the boy is mine follows after that- her playing the role.

Hey, I just wanted to add onto your commentary… Page Six (who spread the affair allegation about Ariana) had been under fire for spreading false information before. They said, for example, that Taylor Swift had an abortion. Page Six has always been this insensitive and invasive, because it turns out that they also spread the rumor 14 years ago when Ariana was still a teenager that she had fallen out with her therapist because “she was too diva.” Ariana, in her recent interview with Podcrushed, asserted that not only was that untrue but she is still working with that very therapist to this day! So yeah, perhaps let’s not feed into the hysteria and media attention… it’s often very unfair for female artists in the music industry.

What a disappointing video...even the boy's own wife clarified that when he started with Ariana they were already divorced...even the magazine that invented the gossip later apologized, and you who are supposed to be professional and shouldn't care about the personal lives of others, you talked more in the video about that than about the performance itself... There was one line added in an article to avoid defamation suits. Ethan and Ariana are cheaters! She made a new song that fitted the album and was similar to the other one, it's not that deep. I think you need to do more research before you react to a video because you literally gave a wrong analysis of song and it was live the breathing the note changes which you wouldn't know because obviously you didn't listen to the album
Before you reacted to this song you should've listened to the whole album, and the first AND second single and maybe look at those lyrics. Maybe then you would be following what's happening throughout the album. Not every song has to be this lyrically genius song, she just wanted to have with this one and give the people indeed what they wanted. Pop princess Ari era was the worst time of her life, and she has shared that information with us so many times. She's the healthiest she's ever been and the new album reaching #1 proves that it is loved and well-received. I usually respect your reactions, but I can't help but feel that you have some sort of, like, grudge against Ari? The Ariana Army is out in force it seems, taking things too personally unnecessarily. And she probably is singing live during the recording but even I noticed how it sounded a bit too polished as if they'd worked on the audio in post production. And I'm not even a vocal coach like Georgina is. The boy is mine is not even based on her life or anyone else’s, it’s supposed to replace her unreleased song “fantasize”. Also she mentions in her album that this song is the counterpart of the song “True Story” which is her answering the rumors of her stealing a boy.
i’ve been watching your channel for years and you just lost a subscriber, these rumours have been debunked over and over again, the performance is clearly live, there’s nothing here for her to have to lip sync and she made up adlibs that aren’t in the original track for half the performance, this is extremely disappointing, uninformed and unprofessional
love your videos sm, just wanted to give full context to the song, on the tracklist before this song plays "True Story" which has the lyrics "ill play the villain if you need me to" "ill be the bad girl if you need me to, if it makes you feel better". Then "The Boy Is Mine" plays and this is Ariana playing the fictional role of "the villain" "the bad girl" , and the public loved her leaked song "fantasize" which also has the same undertones as "the boy is mine". The album "Eternal Sunshine" is a concept album and not based off Arianas real life, I can completely understand how you came to your conclusion because of the media LOVING these stories of women being "not a girls girl" but the rumours of Ariana have been fully debunked and if you would like these sources I am happy to send the information. One small thing that's wrong with your comment is that ES IS based off Ari's life. Most of the tracks on ES were written by her and are extremely personal to her, the album addresses the divorce and also the pain of moving forward. Songs like true story and the boy is mine are the only ones that are fictional, the rest of the album is very much truthful to her feelings.

After seeing Ariana live 5 times, 100% of which was 100% live vocals (proved because recordings of perfornances once night agter another are drastiaally different), I can promise you she has no reason to ever lip sync. Shes that unbelievably good.

This is some constructive criticism but I wish you would let her sing rather than pause it every couple words so that way you can hear her voice and we can too. where to start, i think it was important to listen to the album first before deciding your own thoughts and reacting to this then thinking the song was based on the rumors, the song was put on the album because as others have said a song of hers got leaked and she wanted to give the fans something with a similar vibe, i was really looking forward to your reaction but as the video went on I just started to lose interest and was just shocked… and the hate on positions smh such a good album
