Hi dallesha, I’m new to this. I happen to come across your video about this program and I have been looking for ways to have someone enlighten me about it seeing your video gave me confidence with a good chill. I appreciate the work you put into it. God bless you. My question is, (1) Is it possible for me to buy the textbook and study it on my own without going to an accredited school offering it? (2) And while finished and comfortable reading for the exam, what is the process / how can I proceed to take the exam? (3) where can I get to buy the textbook to study by myself? Thank you I await your response.

Yes you can buy the book and self-study but you still need hands on training of 400 hours to be fully certified. The book can be purchased from www.myhspa.org hope this helps.

I like my job. I had the opportunity to relocate to another state with a job offer. Sterile process is always needed in hospital, surgery centers etc. you can even do travel technician lots of opportunities and the pay isn’t bad at all depending on what state you live. I can’t complain honestly.
Basically you have to do mini -courses that have to do that have credits attached to them. Each year you have to submit 12 credits to maintain your certification. It’s self paced so you do it on your own. More information is at www.myhspa.org
If you have a facility that your able to do the 400 hours you can definitely do it on your own. But if not, it’s best to do a program that gives you the opportunity to do the 400 hours
@@dalleshaful you just applied for a internship at the hospital or you applied for a job? I’m going to a school next week and it 9 months long and pretty $$$ idk what to do
Wow 9 months? That’s a long time. My program was ran by a sterile processing agency that was in charge of the hospital sterile department, so once I passed the class exam I was able to do my hours at the hospital. If a program is too expensive and doesn’t provide a internship opportunity, that’s a 🚩 red flag. Depending on the state you live in, it can sometimes be difficult to get in a hospital to do your hours. So please think about it before you invest.
Very stable job. Throughout the pandemic my job was very stable. It can be good paying based on where you live and how much experience you have. Hope I answered your questions😊
Thanks for watching 💗💗😊. They are on the 9th edition now. I would suggest calling them. To make sure the information your studying is good enough. I wouldn’t want you to study from that book and more information is added in the latest edition. Just to be in the safe side of things. All the best😊
Unfortunately I’m not able to. I work at a surgery center and decontamination area is not like a hospital decontamination area. I should have some footage of decontamination from my previous job. If I find it I’ll post it for you.
You can take the exam, but they want you to be in a hospital setting to work in each area of the department. Example:decontamination:knowing how to clean instruments etc.. the hspa website gives a breakdown of what they want you to do. Hope this helps.

Thank you! And did you take any online courses or you just self studied?
I took a class that in person and internship opportunity was part of the program.
How do you like your job so far? Im still contemplating scared that I won’t like it
I like my job. I had the opportunity to relocate to another state with a job offer. Sterile process is always needed in hospital, surgery centers etc. you can even do travel technician lots of opportunities and the pay isn’t bad at all depending on what state you live. I can’t complain honestly.
Please help me to become a sterilize tech. How to start
Hi. 👋 what state do you live in?
You guys I’m trying so hard to learn this but my focus is not all there I need help
👋 hi, be more specific in regards to the help that you need. Is it understanding the chapters? Study strategies? What exactly do you need help with?.
@@dalleshaful thank you for your videos I just came across your page I’m subscribing Dallesha have a nice day
What are the 12 continuing credits
Basically you have to do mini -courses that have to do that have credits attached to them. Each year you have to submit 12 credits to maintain your certification. It’s self paced so you do it on your own. More information is at www.myhspa.org
@@dalleshaful wow ok, thank you so much for your informative videos!!! Really appreciate you!!
😊💗thanks for your kind compliment. I appreciate it😊
So do I really need to pay for school? Or can I just study take the exam and do the 400 hrs on my own
If you have a facility that your able to do the 400 hours you can definitely do it on your own. But if not, it’s best to do a program that gives you the opportunity to do the 400 hours
Where will I set up to take the exam? Is there a website? And thank you so much 😊
The website is www.myhspa.org. They will give you a date and time and a location that’s closest to you to choose from. Your welcome. Hope this helps😊
Did you go to school for this or you just study the book
I did a nine week,Saturday only prep class for the exam. Then my 400 hours at a hospital.
@@dalleshaful thank you, the 9 months is with the 400 hrs. 250 classroom hrs
Ok 👍 all the best.😊🎉
Does thi job require night shifts
It’s not a requirement per say. Normally when a job is posted it shows the shift they are hiring for. So it would be up to you.
I know you said read the book but it's so hard 😫
It is 😩but you have to. You can do it day by day read a chapter and quiz yourself. You got this 💗😊
It’s a good paid job and stable?
Can i pm you please im here in LA
Im planning to go to school just have questions
Very stable job. Throughout the pandemic my job was very stable. It can be good paying based on where you live and how much experience you have. Hope I answered your questions😊
Sure you can Dm me @dallesha_walters
Sure ask questions, I’ll respond 😊
I’m taking my exam in may. The first book I was told to get was the d version which is the 7th edition. So I’m hoping this video helps me.
Thanks for watching 💗💗😊. They are on the 9th edition now. I would suggest calling them. To make sure the information your studying is good enough. I wouldn’t want you to study from that book and more information is added in the latest edition. Just to be in the safe side of things. All the best😊
Come Tru mi friend
Thanks hun☺️
I study from the workbook that’s better
Whatever works best for you😊
@@dalleshaful Are you able to show some behind the scenes footage
Of what exactly?
@@dalleshaful of the decontamination Area
Unfortunately I’m not able to. I work at a surgery center and decontamination area is not like a hospital decontamination area. I should have some footage of decontamination from my previous job. If I find it I’ll post it for you.
What if you worked as a sterilization tech at a past job for years? I worked at a dentist office doing that from 2013-2020.
You can take the exam, but they want you to be in a hospital setting to work in each area of the department. Example:decontamination:knowing how to clean instruments etc.. the hspa website gives a breakdown of what they want you to do. Hope this helps.
