I remember being at my grandma's in December of 1995 and the promo aired. Being 11 I only caught the tail end of Bandstand but I watched it from the time I was 6 months old up until the end of the syndicated version. Even though VH1 episodes only went til August 85' I could still remember the 1986 closing theme at that time. Not to sound lame but that was an exciting thing. Dick even promoted on Rockin New Years Eve 96. I watched both marathons from 96 and 97
The Dick Clark Productions closing logo used on the VH1 run was the 1989 version followed by the Paul Brownstein Productions logo; for the original ABC run the logos varied: from 1980 to 1983, for example, the logo with the descending glockenspiel lick was used.
The New Year's Day Marathons in 1996 and 1997 were the best!
You can say that again!
RIGHT ON!
