+Raf Star and a little film called the revenant with another guy named leonardo da vinci i think,it has a another guy tony hard and it's directed by the guy who did birdman which had some award success
I'm less crazy about this movie. If there is any reason to see it, it's Saorise Ronan because she has been a captivating actress since Atonement. I could feel her emotions, I was interested in seeing what she would do but everything else felt... good. Not bad, not outstanding just... good. It's a good little movie. But I would love to hear that song the Irishman sung again.
I usually don't like these type of movies but it was my sisters b-day so I went.Saorise as an actress is phenominal one cant take your eyes off of her.and the movie is funny and sad and really makes one feel like they know how this girl feels.a stranger in a strange land.also was nice to see the church not slammed in a movie but being helpful to her and those men.not all catholic priests are pervs and was nice to show that.
Saorise Ronan and Jennifer Lawrence are imho the greatest actors of their generation. Ronan's beautiful, understated performance is perfect in this movie.
+Mal from London Lawrence is very good but I'd put Rooney Mara, Carey Mulligan, Elizabeth Olsen and Brie Larson over her. Saoirse is one of the best though.
I was slightly disappointed with this movie. With the 99% rating, I was expecting something tragic or unexpected. I do agree with Matt though, the scenes when she went back to Ireland I was very anxious of what she would choose. But when she decides to go back, it didn't really surprise me. The acting was great, and I thought that the reason why she stopped opening Tony's letters was because she was torn between him and Jim, not that the life she always wanted was becoming a reality. It was pretty good, but not really anything Oscar worthy.
+UnbelievabIeMontages well, she did love him, so she might've. She also remembered how small Ireland is when her friend heard gossip that she got married, eventually she might've gotten tired of that and moved back.
I'll approach this with caution, as I still remember everyone raving about An Education years ago when it was little more than a decent television melodrama.
I really liked this movie. I thought the chemistry between the lead couple was great and it was shot and scored beautifully. Heartwarming script too. I saw it leaving new york :)
Wonderful movie in everyway, watched it last night I give it a 9.5. I grew up in the 50's and this movie was a perfect representation of that era. Loved this movie for so many reasons.
WOW! WOW! WOW!, I LOVE THIS MOVIE!, So well done!, I saw it last night! It's made in the old Hollywood style. if anyone seen the film, please write here your thoughts on the film. Thanks David from Ca.
Agreed. Wonderful, wonderful movie. I've watched it three times in the past two days and I plan to watch it a couple more times before returning it. I liked it that much.
meh... didin't like it much. It was beautiful it was super light the arc is very subtle, comparing it to Boyhood I liked Boyhood more because the story is more relatable to me. I always thought the Irish girl would become pregnant at some point wich brings some strugle into her life...or something bad would hapen to her, of course the sister thing and all but that was kinnda brushed off to quickly I think... oh well :/
I probably won't watch it anytime soon, seems a bit too light. Especially with the state of the country in the 1950s. But, if I have the opportunity I will not turn it down.
I remember reading the book a few years ago ( I live in Ireland so it's quite popular here) I wonder does the movie skip the problems on the boat and does it go in to the same amount of detail the book went in to for the sex scene.
Alonso! Thanks for pointing out why this film is so important at this moment (beyond that it's Great) the immigrant issue. Yes, dealing with immigrants is not simple but it is what made this nation what it is. Brooklyn demonstrates this. We're about to celebrate Thanksgiving. It's a holiday where we give Thanks for the reception we received from the Orignials. Tell that to Cruz and Rubio.
yes showing a beautiful.irish woman best portrays the immigrant problem because you know irish immigrants are attacked constantly. not mexicans or hispanics nope its irish white women so belittled and oppressed
I saw this movie so many times and it's still managing to bring to tears. I can see myself in the struggle that Ellis was facing at the beginning with the homesick. I really love this movie.
Why didn't these two guys review Creed instead of the other two guys. I know these guys are honest and wouldn't sell their review because Creed sucked.
lemme guess christie will give it a 10 but shits on prisoners and other far better films this movie is so cliche and boring look at my love triangle i cant decide look at how smart i oh no choices so hard
Saorise's prudishness seems really authentic and natural, like she actually existed back in the fifties. Also, no child of seven will ever be heard to utter the words 'that is a well-known fact'. Screenwriters, get your act together. And boy oh boy, Christy is looking amazingly cute this week.
+Marcel Körner yep, I think boyhood, carol, danish girl and brooklyn are just ok, kind of alright, not very engaging storytelling, though in all of them the scene in brooklyn of that guy chanting in celtic or something got me, unlike the rest of the movie
Saorise is a captivating actress.
+Adam Block I agree! I think her face is mesmorizing.
Adam Block no shit
A beautiful movie about homesickness, nostalgia, dreams, and a new world. Saoirse is one of the best young actors in Hollywood.
I really loved this film. Much better than Carol for me and the romance between her and Tony was so lovely. I couldn't stop smiling.
Domnhall Gleeson's gotta chill, Ex machina, brooklyn, then star wars!
+Raf Star and a little film called the revenant with another guy named leonardo da vinci i think,it has a another guy tony hard and it's directed by the guy who did birdman which had some award success
+Μαριος Λουπς Leonard Da Vinci looool. I also heard the author Thomas Hardy's in that film too...
the revenant
This was the best movie I've seen in the movie theaters all year.
I had a big goofy smile on my face the whole time watching this movie.
the ending was such a tease, but im glad the right choice was made.
I am so obsessed with domhall gleeson right now, such a great actor. I am happy he is becoming so well known
i fucking love this movie man
ɷ I Haveeee Watched Thisss Moviee Leakedd Versionn Hereee : - t.co/RlKbv1hghK
Emory Cohen was Bradley cooper's son in The Place Beyond the Pines

This movie was really cute, the romance between Ellis and Tony was mesmerizing. Great film.
Ye butchered them Irish names.
He said saoirse right what did he butcher?

Yes, all very good actresses. I look forward to watching the work of these ladies over the next few years.
haha i totally thought that bug was on my computer screen and i tried to kill it...

+bandgeek89 the question is, if she never married tony, would she have gone back?
+UnbelievabIeMontages well, she did love him, so she might've. She also remembered how small Ireland is when her friend heard gossip that she got married, eventually she might've gotten tired of that and moved back.
bandgeek89 it's a hard decision, go back to brooklyn and be with your husband or leave your mother here in ireland by herself forever leaving her dead
I'll approach this with caution, as I still remember everyone raving about An Education years ago when it was little more than a decent television melodrama.
Its a beautiful movie. One of my favorites of all time
Saorise auditioned for the female lead in The Force Awakens but didn't get it. Domnhall is in both this and The Force Awakens :)
I really liked this movie. I thought the chemistry between the lead couple was great and it was shot and scored beautifully. Heartwarming script too. I saw it leaving new york :)
Can you please tell me why eilis was ignoring tonis letters?
That fly had the hots for Christy
8.5 from me also. An absolutely lovely picture.
Toibin is pronounced "tow-been" not "toy bin" lol
Wonderful movie in everyway, watched it last night I give it a 9.5. I grew up in the 50's and this movie was a perfect representation of that era. Loved this movie for so many reasons.
Saoirse has some big movie rolls ahead of her she is a great actor the real deal
The girl from Hannah's getting old, I barely recognized her!
Such a beautiful movie. Loved it so so much. SO good.
Hearing you try and pronounce Irish names is fun, haha great video btw
Christy should have gone full Paul Freeman.
Love the Jessica Pare mention - she was perfect, as was everyone. Great review, great little movie. Go see it, people!
I didn't even know anything about this movie.
WOW! WOW! WOW!, I LOVE THIS MOVIE!, So well done!, I saw it last night!

+Dregen1 You're unbearable.
Because it's not at the top of my list of movies to view?
Dregen1
No. Because you're making up a pretentious reason. If it doesn't interest you don't watch it but don't but down those who will watch it.
I didn't say anything disparaging about those who wanted to watch the film right away.
I remember reading the book a few years ago ( I live in Ireland so it's quite popular here) I wonder does the movie skip the problems on the boat and does it go in to the same amount of detail the book went in to for the sex scene.
I'm surprised how well received it was having an 86 on metacritic from 24 critics.
interesting

This movie is so dense! There's so much going on!
julia walters was brilliant in the film as well
This movie is perfection.
Matt's expression at 3:59
good flick iguess, kept wtg for something to happen...

spotlight is far better

BOYHOOD SUCKS!!!
Most overrated Movie of the last years
lol no brooklyn sucks carol sucks. the danish girl was good.
nextgreat screenwriter carol and danish girl also sucked both
***** carol sucked yes. The danish girl was ok. Its not my fav but tbey really overhyped this film its not that good
+Marcel Körner yep, I think boyhood, carol, danish girl and brooklyn are just ok, kind of alright, not very engaging storytelling, though in all of them the scene in brooklyn of that guy chanting in celtic or something got me, unlike the rest of the movie
daolchang for the old academy its the best shit ever
This movie is about a white immigrant so I don't agree with the contemporary comparison that Alonso tries to make.
Alonso pretty much says 'she is soo adorable' he didn't mention her acting ability. Anyhow movie sounds cliché.
+ralelunar You need to read up on American history. Maybe find something out that happened before 1996.
FIRST YAAAAASSSSSS
