I agree. The more I look at it, the more it seems it's becoming garbage, and not even fun garbage. As in, I hate it more tag most people now hate Family Guy these days. It's gone from clever, droll, witty satire humor and social commentary to just being mean spirited and obnoxious. So much so that it constantly makes you feel like the characters are just cannon fodder now for misfortune and selfishness. It's just bad. Really, really, really bad.
I don't know about getting "better", in my opinion, the show's "glory days" started in 2001, and ended in 2007. It's still good, but it's just not what it use to be but that's what you'd expect having mainly Trey Parker writing and directing every single episode since 1997.
South Park, Jackass, even Howard Stern is focused toward a very specific audience participant: The Mook. You can find the Mook making fart jokes, bringing up tits in casual conversation, and generally reveling in low-brow ignorance. The entertainment industry makes billions off of this type.. Its true. Its like they sold the tittle to the simpsons or fucking familly guy. The fucking humor is not the same. Its just not funny any more. Its logical humor like family guy.
