What a wonderfully sonorous pedal! If I could bring Bach forward in time, the first thing I'd so would be to introduce him to the Cavaille-Coll at St. Ouen.
Bravo! I played for a concert there in November 2010. Boy it was cold for the choir - they could see their breath as they sang! I had the opposite problem as the organist had arranged a battery of heaters such that, at one point, my coat started to smoulder! At the Organist's request I played Nimrod and he was so overcome with emotion that he couldn't speak (alternatively it was really terrible - I prefer the former explanation however ...).
I don’t usually, but I can do both. I usually play in shoes, and have done since I was a student, but I wanted to learn to ‘feel’ my way around the pedal board for a few years ☺️
Bravo!! My favorite of the Mendelssohn Sonatas - wonderful performance, by a fantastic organist, on a thrilling organ. (I particularly love that the keyboard-cam vibrates on its mount when the pedal notes speak! To hear this in person!!!...) (To answer your question below - I love the Rotterdam performance - but I have to say I prefer the CC rendering - nothing to do with HW and everything to do with that glorious CC sound. (I can't recall... have you recorded Mendelssohn on Caen? 🤔 😊 )
I’ve already done 1, 3 and 4 on BIS so I’m halfway there... I have my upcoming recitals planned until next year but it’s something I’ve already considered 👌🏼
Organ Sonata No.4 in B-flat Major Op.65 No.4
I. Allegro Con Brio 00:00
II. Andante Religioso 3:57
III. Allegretto 6:25
IV. Allegro Maestoso 10:47
Lovely organ as well, is this one.
What a great sound! Every Cavaille-Coll organ is it's own entity! Thank you!
Just an amazing sound, isn’t it. My favourite!!
I've been learning the Mendelssohn sonatas, found No. 4 hard to get my head around. This helps. Thanks!
Magnificent!
Thank you very much! Did you hear my performance this in my recent Rotterdam recital? I wonder how they compare for you?
Sterling performance, Richard.👏 Slàinte Mhath🏴

Richard, a fabulous job..... nice page turner as well!
Now I know Thur your skill here. That the organ is called,"The King of instruments." Thank You.

Could you do a recital of all the Mendelssohn Sonatas sometime? Or maybe even the sonatas and the preldudes and fugues. They're some of my favorites.

I would love to hear the first organ sonata
The good news is that you can! Have a look at my recital from Arundel Cathedral 😉
BRAVISSIMO!Fantastic job.Can anyone play that organ or do they have to be well known(ofc both would have to get permission)?
Wonderful! But why do you play without shoes?

Excellent performance on a superb instrument! If you don't mind my asking, what's your recording set up like?

Nice playing. Maybe the manual shouldn't be coupled to the pedal though since the first b flat in the manual doesn't actually sound
Beautiful playing Richard but we must take up a collection to get you a new pair of organ shoes!!!!
Have a listen to what I say, live, about my organ shoes here Paul: ruclips.net/video/i5IwMTk9xkI/видео.html 😃
Next recital I want to hear all 6 Sonatas 😛
