PURE VOCALLS! groups like this just needed babyface or jimmy jam & terry Lewis or Motown to produce longevity hits. People don't understand back then it was producers & labels making these groups what they were vs today where u can do everything on your own. Back then groups like riff ain't have that but they're pure talent I can name a tone of pure talent in the 90's that didn't get the recognition they deserve because of a SHITTY labels and selfish producers looking out for their own interest.

Riff can all sing well. After Johnny Gill, the original members of NE have fallen way off. They were never great singers to begin with, and i love New Edition
Yes they definitely had more raw vocal talent (apart from Johnny Gill) but NE had more personality and better songs, and that's what makes a group famous
