Katina, I’ve been following you for about a year. You have inspired me not so much to sew, but to embrace my baldness. I have a disease that affects virtually every part of my life. There is life without children. There is life with limited vision and there is life without hair. I feel such relief not having to wear wigs that are painful on my sensitive skin. It is a relief to live in the truth of my situation. I’ve decided that if my lack of hair is a problem for others, it’s their problem. You are a fun, cool, adventurous and inspiring 💗💗💗
O Sarah! The scratchy wigs! I really do not miss that! "There is life without children. There is life with limited vision and life without hair." These statements of you really touched me! It is the type of thing I have to tell myself every now and again. Thank you for this!
I come alive when it rains and gets cooler, and I recently discovered that it's called being a Pluviophile! So I think you might be one too! By the way, I loved your latest video. I want to sit down with a cuppa and some knitting and watch it properly!
@@theseamstressatthecottage thank you dear! I think our creativity comes brighter in this days 🙂 I'm deffinetly a pluviophile, but I think I feel this way with every change of weather and season, it's something about the tangible change that makes it so enjoyable. Maybe there's a name for this too. Your video made me want to go back to knit, I only learned how to make a plain. Any pattern recommendation to start again?
You’re going to be busy 😊 I think fall is my favorite season too. I’m ready to get in my sewing room and work on some fall/winter wardrobe pieces and I love all the inspiration, thank you.
Hi Katinka! great plans. I love it when I have enough of one fabric to make more than one piece. I especially like those simplicity pants and the waistcoat Excited to see what you make with the quilt!
Sherrel, it took lots of mindset work to get here, and walking with Jesus helped me the most. I can not be sad or depressed for long with Him by my side!
I have frontal fibrosing alopecia and your description of your body being allergic to your hair roots is the best 👌. I didn't know that this month is Alopecia Awareness. Thanks for sharing. Your plans are inspiring.
Hi Nancy, I only remembered last week that it is September! That is why I am only talking about it now. But yes, September is alopecia awareness month, and it is important to talk about it because many people are embarrassed about it. I hope my plans get done before autumn is over!😁
GREAT patterns! I have already started sewing for the Fall. I Love Fall and Spring. They are my 2 favorite seasons. I'm loving all the warm colors you chose. Especially the olive color. Your Grandma was crafty. I come from a family of embroiderers. My Mother and her sisters and my Grandma from Italy all hand embroidered EVERYTHING! Napkins, tablecloths, etc. I look forward to seeing your dresses especially the one with the fabric pieced together. I never know what to sew with my scraps. I donate them to people that make dog beds for shelters. Have a great week! 🥰

@@theseamstressatthecottage I do have plans but I've discovered today I need trousers! I've 'grown' out of a lot of mine in the last year 🤣. That may have to take priority!
Lovely plans. I don't knit or crochet, but I have tried and just don't have the patience, dexterity or mind processing to understand the needle work. Your knitting is beautiful. I keep thread bits, clips and snips of fabrics for the birds to use as nesting materials. I made a wire "hollow ball" that I stuff with the bits and hang outside. I've seen bits of my pieces in bird nests from time to time. This gives me great joy to know the birds actually use them. Looking forward to seeing your plans made into some beautiful clothing.
@leannwhite620 oh that's awesome!! I used to leave my dogs hair from after a bath brushing out in a container for the birds and they loved it! Thank you for spending time with me.

I look forward to seeing your makes. I must admit I have never heard anyone say fabrics have energies that may or may not work together. However, I think whatever you enjoy wearing is what you should wear! I am in an autumn sewing and knitting phase too since we have already had frosty mornings. Looks like there will be a cold, snowy winter in Scotland so warm things are needed. ☃️🧣

Hi Katinka. It’s been too warm here for mid September … about 75*f today. We have some leaves that are changing and starting to fall. The peak is usually around mid October. I think we are cooling down in the next week or so. Thank you for sharing some information on Alopecia awareness month.
