It's an impression video, alright. I can see the appeal in the game.

A sequel to one of my favorite PC games. Steroid is one of the classic characters. I like the game a lot but IMO its not nearly as good as Jagged Alliance 2. The number of available mercs is absurdly low, the lowest in the series outside the abomination known as Rage I think. Also the weapon selection is horrible better then the first games but worse then the others. I also find the over reliance of World War I and II era weapons in the early phases annoying especially for characters who had more modern weapons in earlier games annoying. And I hate Doublebarrel Break Action Shotguns in turn based games like this. I don't like them in shooters but they are far worse here. Made worse by the fact they are the only Shotguns I could find early in the game. The reason I experimented with one was really wanting my custom merc to have a Shotgun but having to reload after ever other shot until I found an Auto-5 was awful. I also find it very odd there are no Pump Action Shotguns in the base game just Break Actions, Semiautos, and Fullautos.
What I would love if they make more Jagged Alliance games is them to give the player some money at the beginning to buy weapons and gear for their custom merc instead of having the custom merc's gear selected by the game.

IMHO: It is never going to be as good as Jagged Alliance 2... Even if it *was* as good, you can never go back home, nostalgia is a hell of a drug. The best we could have hoped for was a solid game in the series and I think in some ways they delivered here. The one big thing is the mission editor. I think that alone makes this worth a second look. The question is will the community take to it? Thats always the question right? But if the tools are solid there will be some cool missions available. I do however agree with the points you made and the WW1 era weapons seemed odd. But again at least its more content that could be used in custom stuff that would make more sense?? I don't know.. Its a thumbs up from me, with a get it on sale for best value note! ;)
I did though ask my contact over at THQ and unfortunately there is no DLC planned at this stage of things. The modding tools was the plan currently for the long tail sales of the game so to speak. It made somewhere between 9-13m on steam so... maybe there is hope?
